Lone Star Saloon Bar is usually pack on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
My favourite cocktail would have to be the 'Brain Eraser', and yes, it does seem to have that effect after a jugful or three....

Frog 'n' Firkin Cafe and Bar: English Pub

The Frog, an english-style pub, is located right beside the movie theatre which means it's great to pop into for a bite before/after the movies. I recommend the fish and chips. It has a warm cozy atmosphere during the day.
At night, the place is crowded, the dancefloor is full and the music goes off.
It's pretty popular with the workcrowd on Thursday and Friday nights, and with everyone on Saturday nights.

Open: 6 Days a week
Monday to Wednesday, 1100 to 2300
Thursday, 1100 to 0200
Friday, 1100 to 0300
Saturday, 1600 to 0300
Closed on Sundays

Dress Code: Tidy dress, but jeans ok.

We only stayed in Invercargill for a few hours, we spent the time wandering around the gardens and saying hello to a 120 year old Tuatara.
