The Sovereign Onboard Cafe: Grab a Picnic Pack
The Picnic Pack offered by the onboard cafe packs a good variety of small munches. The portions aren't very big but more than filling. Fulfills the hunger pangs that you might have if you did not fly over in record timing and yet does not leaves you too full and tired to enjoy the scenary.
Favorite Dish: Definitely the Apple and Cold Cuts. Fresh seafood + vitamins to wash it down. What else could you ask for?
Packed lunch on board: Rush, rush, rush.....
We are given a packed lunch to eat on board, which we gulp down before we've even set off from the jetty - we want to spend the entire journey on the dack so as not to miss anything. The lunch is very pleasant, sandwiches and a kiwi fruit.
Blue Duck Café & Bar: Coffee, Cakes & Bar Food with a splendid View
Staff at the cruise terminal told us the fare at the café is not of outstanding flavour. From what we could see it was not fresh but kept warm on buffet facilities, so I can imagine that pasta gets a little muddy by the time. The hot lunchtime fare is more for the hungry than for gourmets. Also sandwiches, pies and filled rolls were available. We had not planned a big meal anyway, so just had coffees and cakes, and they were quite nice.
As we travelled on a splendid day, we sat outside at one of those benches that are directly attached to the tables, so nothing can fly away or fall over in high wind. Oh, that was soooo nice – as we had insect repellent and sprayed it all over us, including Kimi the Travel Bear.
In the evening you get hearty pub fare. There is a link to the menu on the link below.
