Kai Kart: Blue cod 'n' Bluff oysters
With such a perfect, sunny day and only a few hours to explore, the last thing we wanted to do was spend any more time than necessary over lunch, but we were still keen to sample Stewart Island's famed Blue Cod and Southland's other great delicacy - Bluff oysters. Luckily both were on the day's frying list at the island's reknowned fish bar - Kai Kart - and so we placed our order and did what every right-thinking fish and chip eater does - took our paper parcel of goodies down to the water's edge, sat in the sun and took in the view as we polished off the lot, right down to the last crispy morsel.
