The interior is decorated with odd antiques and mountain paraphernalia. Its set up as a rustic wood cabin, with a central fire place and hearth.
The setting is very casual but the food is quite tasty and portions are generous.
I typically avoid writing reviews of places that are already posted ample times, but I was rather impressed with the laid back atmosphere, service and food.
Favorite Dish: Breakfasts are offered all day, but the dinners are great. We sampled among other things, the whitebait fritters, the meatball pasta and the desserts. All were quite good.
There is a rather extensive selection of beers and a fully stocked bar too.

The cafe gave us an old "western Bar" kind of feel. Jac and I were deciding on whether we should eat indoors (They have a nice fireplace), or just gawk at Fox Glacier while feeding ourselves. It was a little chilly though. But heck, how often will you ever get to dine with such a wonderful view? We chose to do the latter. Just throw on some thick jacket and enjoy the meal.
Favorite Dish: We ordered ourselves pasta. Did not try the other stuff or else I'd be sleeping on the wheels with my full stomach. But no regrets. Great food!

Absloutly the best BLT in the world. New Zealanders have a knack for making some great Blt's and this is the best one I've come across. Try it! The chocolate mud cake is pretty much the best out there too.

You can get all-day breakfast, burgers and snacks from $5. This restaurant specialises in seafood and steaks. It's very nicely decorated and the people are friendly.
Favorite Dish: I had a toasted sandwich with cheese, ham, pineapple and mushrooms and I loved it.

The place is very homey with a fireplace dividing the bar from the restaurant. There is a wide selection of different styles of food, and a full bar.
Favorite Dish: Both the pasta and the dinner salad contained fresh and yummy vegetables. And there was a good selection of reasonably priced local wines.

Fox Glacier is very small, so the bars/restaurants are limited. We popped into Cook Saddle, and enjoyed a few drinks/snacks at the bar.
Favorite Dish: Try the yummy nacho's!

Although it is much smaller than the town of Franz Josef, Fox was tons of fun. I was only there 2 nights (that was plenty), but on the second night, everyone I had met in town was at the same bar!
