Dino's: Don't leave it till your last night
by VCasual
Loved the old homestead, the gardens, friendly helpful, experienced staff, Casual atmosphere, Fabulous collection of artworks. But best of all the food is fantastic. Tasty local produce cooked to perfection every time. We ate there several times and were made to feel special and welcomed. Worth seeking out.
All dishes were very flavoursome, licorice icecream is a must try!
Norfolk Blue Restaurant Bar & Grill at Homestead: Serendipity at the old Fig Trees
by bevrobinson
Both the ambience and food are outstanding. Nestled behind the huge old fig trees, the gardens, verandahs and tastefully refurbished restaurant provide an amazing atmosphere to enjoy great food and wine or just to relax with a drink and nibbles on the “randa” as they call it on Norfolk Island, or in the relaxing lounge area.
During our stay we visited the restaurant 3 times. It’s hard to say what was my favorite because every meal was delightful. The beef is to die for, the vegetarian dishes (which we had one lunchtime) were special as well (a roasted local mushroom dish with marinated feta and polenta chips) and sweets, well, we just about tried them all and they were simply divine!
Governors: Buffet delight
by iandsmith
Yet another place that had fine ambience, trained staff who cared and food to match. Though it was a buffet the selection was excellent and the roasts first class. There are paintings in the French European mode adorning the walls and some thoughtful background music.A lovely place to dine.
Leave some room for dessert, you won't regret it.
Homestead: Country atmosphere
by iandsmith
This place was a surprise. We had driven past it the day before and decided to go there on the following day. After we did it was recommended to us by a few people. The place is run in a very professional manner and only serves lunch as they make enough revenue out of that to suffice.Quality food, properly trained staff, nice ambience. Much like the majority of restaurants we ate on on Norfolk
Garrison's: A frame special
by iandsmith
This was the first restaurant we ate at and we were so impressed we ate there again the second night. The service was professional, the music atmospheric and the food very good. They have a nice range of wines and the seating isn't elbow to elbow but well spaced.I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
I'll always remember this place because this is where we had seafood and it was fresh. I know it was fresh because I'd caught it just a couple of hours earlier so we had the wonder of that fresh seafood taste.
Dino's: An eclectic mix
by iandsmith
This restaurant came recommended to us, as did several others over our week there. We were never disappointed. The standard of cuisine on Norfolk is very good. This place though was run by people with artistic bent. Everything from a copy of Italian Renaissance art in Perugia to a large picture of an eye to an Indian tapestry to an eyecatching abstract work of stuffed red vinyl - and that's only a sample! The service and food were both of a high standard for a restaurant situated halfway down a dead end road with hardly any other signs of habitation.
The desserts are to die for.
