Saipan is a terrritory of the U.S. Since I spent the last year in Seoul, Korea, I thought it would be great to step foot on American soil again.
Saipan is American soil by name only. Immediately after disembarking the plane, I felt like I was in Tokyo. Ko Ni Chi Wa, Kon Bang Wa, Irai Sai Ma Sen. I got these horrible high school Japanese class flashbacks.
If you look Asian, be prepared to be bombarded constantly with earfuls of Japanese.
