Expressions is a well maintained store, selling quality names and flavors or wines, chocolates, coffee and other treats for the palate.

This was again pointed out to me by my local friends as a must-do on any visit to town.

What to buy: Regardless of your sweet tooth, they have an ample selection of chocolates, candies, treats, coffees and more. Some are pre-packaged, but others are in bins and you may buy by the pound.

There are also many varieties of wines and drinks. The shop prides themselves on quality products.

What to pay: Wines are reasonable. The sweets depend on the price-per-pound. All prices are well posted.

What to buy: I couldn't resist, I had to buy a Saipanda tee shirt! Unfortunately they were a bit small for me, but it did fit my 3 year old quite nicely. This is Saipan's answer to Hello Kitty. Not quite as cute in the traditional sense, but after a week on the island and seeing it in every shop window the Saipanda kinda grew on me :)
There is even a Saipanda bus (complete with little black ears and a pointy orange nose - what's with that nose anyway??) that takes tour groups around the island.

What to pay: This pic is off a child's shirt, which cost around USD15.

What to pay: The US dollar is used on the island although I have a sneaking suspicion some places might take Yen. All credit cards and traveller's cheques are welcome as well.

Prices are similar to that of Japanese prices. I paid $3.75 for a can of Coke at the airport, $2 for a bottle of water in a convenient store, $10 for lunch, $20+ for dinner. Be prepared to spend a lot more than usual if you're going to buy necessities like Aspirin, or even things like film and sunblock.
