The water, the water, the water! I was shocked when I first moved there, and when I brushed my teeth, it was with salt water! The larger resorts filter their water, but the cheaper hotels do not!
Also, there is a drug problem among the young kids on Saipan, ice is a favourite. And drinking is a lifestyle too. Just keep this in mind, you will likely not run into problems. The tourist area near my hotel (or nearby the Duty Free Shop DFS) got several teams of 'LADY OF THE NIGHT' marching around in the evening, and there were lots of massage shops of which staff at the entrance would really grab your arm & pull you into their shops.
