    Japanese war memorial site

    The monument
    4 more images

This memorial site is located close to the main road on the western side of the island.

I could not find any information of this place because there are no information boards on the location. I found a japanese flag there and the text on monument seems to be written in japanese. Maybe it is the names of fallen soldiers in WW2 who are listed?

The ground and monument is not well maintained, but it's ok to stay there for half an hour to take a look and take a rest from the driving.

    Aimeliik Bai

This is a perfect Bai, lying in idyllic suroundings. Bai, is a men's meeting house.

The roof is made of straws and it is seems to be 100% waterproof.

The building is beautifully painted, both outside and inside.

The Bai is hard to find, but it's worth the struggle of finding it.

    Malsol's Tomb, Mystic Place

    The Ground

This place feels a little bit creepy when you are there.

Malsol was a warrior from a neigbouring village and was stoned to death by few women, because he had killed a son from their village. The stones that was throwed on him, makes up the tomb.

This place means something spiritual for the locals. On the site, there is a micro Bai, where the locals puts different offerings.

    The Waterfall

The waterfall is located in the middel of the jungle and it is absolutly stunning.

It can only be reached by a 30 minutes long Hike. Thi Hike itself is also really nice and intereting, and you will walk on a riverside and also see a japanese bulit railway from 1930's.

The water in the river and the waterfall is suprisingly cool and fresh with a temperature of 23 degC.
