...and Four Sharks

by kenmerk

A quick glance off the stern finds four more of the beasts.... Now even VT members less learned than Dr. Manueleb could probably calculate that the big fish appear to be propogating at a geometric rate... I can say that Palau is the first place that I have dove where you don't only see sharks on every dive, but you are actually surrounded by them on most every dive....

One Shark

by kenmerk

Well, lesseee.... I saw the first shark of the trip about 30 seconds into the first dive.... Just lucky maybe.... Well, I can fill out the requirement for at least one or two shark pictures anway....

Inverted Moonwalking...

by kenmerk

Kinda of a Michael Jackson of the deep thing going on here....I dunno why, but this diver decided to try to do an upsidedown moonwalk across the bottom of the hull after this particular dive... Im sure there's a reason...

OMFG! Jellyfish lake!

by bullfrogutah

snorkle jellyfish lake. Camp on any of the rock islands. My dive shop dropped me off on my own island for the night with a full tank of air and gear. Fruit bats flying in the full moon light while I camped on a island about 10 miles from the next human. Oh man, if you have the ability to go to Palau.... GO NOW!

get scuba diving license...

by tiffanylin

get scuba diving license first, then go diving in Big Drop-off, Blue Hole... When I met million fishes, 6 sharks and a sea turtle in Big Drop-off which is a good place for scuba diving. then I just found 'goddam, I forgot bringing my special camera.' So just only memories which I can't share.

MAKE SURE TO HAVE PASSPORT,...

by ETIREUIR41

MAKE SURE TO HAVE PASSPORT, ENOUGH MONEY DEPENDING HOW LONG YOU STAY THERE. WEATHER IS SO HUMID SO BRING SHORTS AND T-SHIRTS. PEOPLE ARE SO FRIENDLY AND MORE RESPECTFUL TO EACH OTHER. I MISS WARM WEATHER AND MOSTLY FOOD. FRESH SEAFOOD AND FRESH FRUITS, COCONUT JUICE AND ESPECIALLY MY FAMILY

Eat fresh fish and fruits, You...

by frir

Eat fresh fish and fruits, You must take a tour with Sams tours, I usually hate tours but this is something else!! They really did a great job!! Kayaking on the beautiful waters, it was like a dream!Fishing was great and then just put the fish on the grill some lime and ready to eat!! Snorkeling was awesome but diving is even better, but I was pregnant at the moment, couldn't do it!!

by Patrick45

Visit Peleliu. If you like seclusion,it's the place to be. Stay at Tangey's Guesthouse. Take a bike ride around the island. Not many people and very quiet. Also learn how to dive before you go. One of my fondest memories was when I visited the 1000 man cave and found a old Japanese hand grenade! Another was diving at Peleliu wall and seeing lots of sharks about 30 feet below me.

Departure Tax

by canuckmike

Just a reminder that Palau has a US $20 departure tax at the airport for Non-Palauans on international flights. It is not the most expensive departure tax that I have seen but still a bit steep.

Drifting

by kenmerk

Drift dives are great. No kicking, no swimming,,, Just kick back, buckle up, and enjoy the show.... Now if only they sold some popcorn and maybe a cold beer down here....
