Palau Getaway: Convenient and Inexpensive

Palau Getaway: Convenient and Inexpensive, Koror

divespot Says:  We stayed in Palau Hotel for 5 days and it was quite okay. Hotel is an economy hotel so don't expect it to have the amenities of a 5star hotel, but the room amenities are complete. The rooms are fully airconditioned with hot and cold shower, complimentary toiletries,...

Blue Bay Restaurant: Great Chinese Food, Koror

canuckmike Says:  I have to say that this place had some of the tastiest chinese food that I have ever had. Dishes are colourful and appetizing. The vegetables were crisp and the seafood was fresh. The prices are reasonable but most of the menus are not in english so I had to point and some...

Yakiniku Restaurant: For Some Korean Food

Yakiniku Restaurant: For Some Korean Food, Koror

canuckmike Says:  I believe this is the only Korean restaurant the I saw in the country so if you want Korean food then this is the place to go. I found the staff to be friendly but they did take their time once when I asked for something. The part I liked most about the place was that they...

The Rock Island Cafe: The Rock Island Cafe

The Rock Island Cafe: The Rock Island Cafe, Koror

canuckmike Says:  The Rock Island Cafe (actually seems more of a diner than a cafe) is a decent restaurant where we had a few lunches. I found it to be clean and fairly cheap with a good atmosphere. It has American style food which is a good break from the mostly seafood/Asian based...

Diving Permit

Favorite thing: If you are planning on doing any SCUBA diving in the Koror region (which is where most of the main dive sites are located) you are going to need a Rock Island and Diving Permit. These cost $15 US and are valid for 2 weeks. It is basically for conservation of the area and running public facilities. There is a hefty fine if you are caught diving without one. Whoever you do your diving with should set this up for. I got mine right in the dive shop that I dove with.
