    This is a worthwhile hike near the village of Simbilando. You follow the Ulo River inland until you reach a large, open break in the forest where you find several boiling mud pools. See my travelogue for details.

  • Address: northern Vella Lavella
  • Directions: begin hiking at the mouth of the Ulo River and follow it inland until you reach the pools. It is HIGHLY recommended that you have one or several guides with you. This will probably be insisted upon anyway.
