Luna Rossa: Cucina italiana and more
High quality italian and seafood. Nice place with comfortable tables and professional management.
Favorite Dish: Tuna fillet, wonderful. Home made pasta (tagliatelle) as you find only in Italy. Also, try the sashimi.Related to:

Any restaurants on Vuna Rd., which runs along the ocean front, are excellent. But try some local fare downtown in Nuku'alofa. Especially the Chinese!
Prices at restaurants on the ocean front are a bit more expensive. There are some restaurants that will have a buffet of traditional Tongan food with Tongan cultural dancing. Great fun!
Favorite Dish: The fish is always good and fresh everyday! Tuna abounds as does clams. The Chinese restaurants in town are a nice change. Stay clear of the road side Bar-B-Q's. The meat sits out for a long time. O.K. for Tongan stomachs, but hard on the rest of the worlds!

You've got try The Seaview Resturant. It's a little pricy, but if you're looking to do one nice where you go all out- this is the place! Another is...
JOHN'S PLACE. How about having a Hawaiian Burger with a slice of pineapple then a nice jucing egg too?! Yum-Yum!
Favorite Dish: Anything FISH will be incredible

Local Ovaka Food!
Served to our work group by the local community of Ovaka,Va'vau
Favorite Dish: The locals fed us home made octopus chowder, crab salad, fresh lobster and fish! The suckling pig was great too! There was also plenty of Taro, yams, sweet potato, and fresh fruit. Washed down with a chilled coconut, this was a top Tongan Feast
Langilangi's Guesthouse.: Langilangi's Guesthouse.
There is only one restaurant in all of Ha'apai and that is Mariners Cafe in Pangai, but most of the guesthouses will prepare a real Tongan dinner if you advise them early enough. So go in the afternoon and arrange a dinner for later at night.
This place is known as Fonongava'inga Guesthouse in the Lonley Planet, and the food is amazing. Go with an appetitie and you won't be disappointed. Mrs Langilangi is a gem.
Favorite Dish: The fish cooked in coconut cream and cheese sauce... oh my god - simply delicious!
(the Taro chips weren't bad either)
Seaview Restaurant.: Seaview Restaurant.
Ok - it's expensive for the average backpacker, but you've got to go there once while in Nuku'alofa. The food is absolutely delicious. The courgettes cooked in olive oil were simply divine!
Favorite Dish: The Salmon Steak -with vegetables.
Sunset Restaurant: Sunset Restaurant
The view from atop the hill is amazing.
Favorite Dish: Pizza and Italian Dushes with a Tongan Twist. Ever had squid (or octopus) on a pizza?
