Round the island tour
If you get the chance then do an Around the Island Tour...just ask any bus driver in town - most of them will offer a price to take you around. You can ask around before taking up any driver on the offer though. It costed us 5000 vatu each but included commentary, lunch, morning & afternoon tea and entry to the beaches.
Our driver, Massing, was fantastic! He told us so much about the way of life in Vanuatu and about the history too. He stopped off at some amazing places and was happy to stop anywhere else along the way that we wanted. It really was worthwhile!

Eton Beach is a gorgeous beach on the eastern coast of Efate. It is a long white beach with gorgeous aqua blue water. There are a few different beach areas that you can stop at and we almost always had the whole beach to ourselves...
The Mele Cascades are just out of Port Vila (aobut a 10 - 15 minute drive) and are definitely worth going to see. You will pay around 200 vatu for a bus trip out there and then 1000 vatu entry to get into the cascades. We also got a guide to show us around and tell us about the place.
The water is crystal clear and you can swim in the pools or under the waterfall.
Le Meridian Resort
If you get the chance then check out Le Meridian Resort...you can walk around the resort for free or pay to use their faciliities. It is a gorgeous resort (the most expensive in Vanuatu) and they have beautiful grounds... The also have golf, volleyball, catamarans, pools, tennis etc...
Port Vila is the capital of Vanuatu and is located on the south-western coast of Efate. It is a town of about 36,000 people and has almost everything a town in Australia of the same size would have. The people are very friendly and we foudn it to be safe to walk around day or night...
Ekasup Cultural Village Tour
Ekasup Village is a fantastic place to visit! They have a special tour set up where you can go to the village and learn about the culture, history, traditions etc. They also let you try some local food. The kids there are very cute too!
Port Vila Markets
The markets in Port Vila are fantastic! They run every day but Sunday and everyone there is very nice...they don't try to force you to buy things and they love to talk to you. Prices are fairly good too.
Everywhere you go around Efate you will find Kava Bars... Many are just a small hut with a kero lamp hanging out the front. Kava is served around sunset and only the men are allowed at Kava Bars.
