Favorite thing: We visited a small village on Lelepa Island which houses most of the people living on the island. Their homes were mainly made of iron instead of palm leaves... The people in the village were very friendly and had some wonderful crafts for sale. :)

Favorite thing: We visited two caves on Lelepa Island. One was said to be where cannibals once lived... Another partly collapsed early in 2004 just before we were there and we were the first in it since it was cleaned...

Favorite thing: Natapao village is on the southern coast of Lelepa Island. At the end of your Lelepa Island tour the guides will take you to their village and show/sell you some goods made by their wifes and other locals...

Favorite thing: At the village on Lelepa Island we were shown/sold some handicrafts made by the locals. Woven baskets, necklaces, shells etc. These people put so much effort into making their wonderful handicrafts that you just want to buy one of everything. :)

Favorite thing: At the beach we stopped for lunch we saw this old boat hull...and the piece of an old aeroplane. The beach was mostly very tidy though and I think these two pieces were just talking points...

Favorite thing: The beaches at Lelepa Island are beautiful!! We stopped at this beach for lunch (fantastic food!) and a swim & snorkel. They even put out some hammocks for us to lounge in. :)

Lelepa is just off Efate, and it is a medium sized island with gorgeous white sandy beaches and great snorkelling. The only way to get there is by a day tour run by the Lelepa locals. Costs around $90...
