Lelepa Island Tour
CandS Says:
We did a Lelepa Island Day Tour run by the locals. The day tour includes transfers from your resort in Port Vila, BBQ lunch, snorkelling gear, morning and afternoon refreshments etc. It costed us 3600 vatu each but we got a half price deal because we were staying at Pangos...
Caving!
Peri25 Says:
There are some great caves on the other side of the island..the tour will take you there. THey're really old and there's a very old handprint there..the locals beleive the spirits live there..it's very cool. they lit candles for us and we went in about 70m ..it was great!
Snorkelling
Peri25 Says:
You can do snorkelling basically all around Lelepa (according to the lonely planet) but the tour only took us to a couple of beaches. The first one was great!
Snorkelling
CandS Says:
The Lelepa Island day tour will take you snorkelling in a few places and they also bring snorkelling gear for you to use if you don't have your own gear...of course, you're welcome to bring your own gear along...it will be very safe the whole time.We stopped in two different...
Prepared by the tour: Local feast
Peri25 Says:
The tour provides a delicious BBQ, honestly the best I've had in ages. There's lots of food, there's chicken, beef, fruit, everything... the beef tehre is great!
Lelepa Island Lunch Spot: Yum...
CandS Says:
On our Lelepa Island day tour the guides gave us lunch at a beautiful beach...the lunch was served under a shelter at the beach. The boys cooked us a wonderful BBQ and even sang to us after we ate...it was fantastic.
I loved the sweet potato...yum!
walking and boats
Peri25 Says:
The tour will take you around the island, walking and by boat. If you're brave enough to go there by yourself.. then remember to ask permission before you go anywhere as the island is all private property and even the water, bush, caves are owned by people. When you pay for...
Boats...
CandS Says:
We got a small power boat across to Lelepa Island from Efate and back (without lights in the dark...hehe). The trip wasn't too long although the boat was very slow...it just gave us more time to look around and chat though. :)
Sit back and enjoy the landscape

As you're always doing something on tours, whether it's snorkelling, walking, etc. Take a minute to enjoy how gorgeous this beach is.... if you walk up to the end, you'll see lots of really nice trees that the locals have written their name on (that's how they claim trees!) and then make them into boats.

Lelepa Island homes
CandS Says:
We visited a small village on Lelepa Island which houses most of the people living on the island. Their homes were mainly made of iron instead of palm leaves... The people in the village were very friendly and had some wonderful crafts for sale. :)
Lelepa Island Caves
CandS Says:
We visited two caves on Lelepa Island. One was said to be where cannibals once lived... Another partly collapsed early in 2004 just before we were there and we were the first in it since it was cleaned...
Natapao Village
CandS Says:
Natapao village is on the southern coast of Lelepa Island. At the end of your Lelepa Island tour the guides will take you to their village and show/sell you some goods made by their wifes and other locals...
A boat
CandS Says:
At the beach we stopped for lunch we saw this old boat hull...and the piece of an old aeroplane. The beach was mostly very tidy though and I think these two pieces were just talking points...
Lelepa Island Handcrafts
CandS Says:
At the village on Lelepa Island we were shown/sold some handicrafts made by the locals. Woven baskets, necklaces, shells etc. These people put so much effort into making their wonderful handicrafts that you just want to buy one of everything. :)
Lelepa Island Beach
CandS Says:
The beaches at Lelepa Island are beautiful!! We stopped at this beach for lunch (fantastic food!) and a swim & snorkel. They even put out some hammocks for us to lounge in. :)
