Next to the place, where the cruseships dock you will find a lot of local massage-parlours right between some of the many souvenirstands. I did not try them out, it all looked very simple, local ladies doing massages behind a thin curtain. One of my passenger-collegues enjoyed it a lot and of course it was a lot cheaper than even the cheapest massage that you can get onboard of a cruiseship.
The prices that are quited there are not US-dollars, but the local money !

There are tons of kava houses in and around Port Vila. You can tell where they are by a glowing gas lit lamp outside the house. Enjoy! Be careful not to drink too much- It can make you really nauseous!
The locals speak an amusing dialect called Bislama and it's commonly written on signs. It's fun to try to figure out what they're saying!
The people of Vanuatu are very laid back but it is considered rude to show too much of the body in public. Especially women's thighs should always be covered in public.
