By ferry to Barbuda
There are a couple of private companies offering daytours to Barbuda. They usually include guides, drinks and meals. There is of course the possibility to hire a boat on your own. But the way locals and tourists usually get to Barbuda is on the ferry. A catamaran with the name of “Barbuda Express” runs daily between St. John’s and Barbuda. The ferry leaves from the ferry dock in St. John’s (you’ll find it right behind King’s Casino), but the ferry sometimes serves other place on the island before leaving from St. John’s. A return ticket costs 140 EC$ or 65 US$. Tickets can be bought at several places, but the only place I know for sure is the ticket desk at the ferry dock. Please have a valid passport (copy is also fine) or national ID card ready when purchasing the ticket – otherwise you’ll be denied. The trip time from St. John’s to Barbuda is 90 minutes.
