Sudden Rain
Although the weather is mostly pleasant in Antigua you need to be prepared for sudden rain. By sudden I mean torrential rain without warning even if the sky appears clear. It takes you quite by surprise, one minute it is fine and the next you are soaking wet. We were told that the island is wetter than it used to be and is starting to become a lot greener due to the rain which has created a micro climate. The clouds are very tiny so the rain moves around very fast in small areas. After being caught 3 times on day one I always carried my brolly. Having said that we had 3 days out of 7 with no rain at all.
