All over Aruba you find those huge cactus.I you visit CASIBARI you find a strange landscape of enormous bolders and cactae. Looks like the natural habitat of the Flinstones. Following the road from your hotel to Sta Cruz. It is mentioned on your left side.

Aruba still get some wild donkeys who walk around freely. This ones finded a lunch for free.We also have a lot of goats who run free. These animals only get owners if you hit them with your car and somebody can claim you.If they are the reason of your damage they are nobody's.

Worth a visit is the Natural Bridge near Seroe Colorado. It's hard to find, when you don't known where it is. I will try to explain it too you. You have to park your car at the Colorado point lighthouse and walk across the rocks to Punta Basora. You have to climb down the rocks, but when you have a close look, you can see a small path. But it is worth the effort because there you can find the most beautiful place on the island, a natural birdge which is not discoverd by many tourist yet!

Visit the Natural Pool! It's a sort of swimming pool between the rocks at the north site of the island. It's hard to come there, but it's really worth a visit! The waves are bounching against the rocks, it's just Great!! You can find the Natural Pool near Boca Keto. There are a view options to come there, when I lived there it was still possible to go there by 4wheel drive (but I heard that that isn't an option any more), but you can park your car at the range near Boca Keto and walk from there (bring water with you)or you can take a horseback riding tour to the Natural Pool.

You HAVE to do the jeep tour! We had a small tour with a funny guide (Nikko). However, he took us through some rough terrain. Not for the weak at heart. They have other tours that aren't as harsh but I enjoyed the adventure.

Rent a jeep & take a self guided tour around the island. It's only 19.6 miles long by 6 miles wide, so you can see all of it in half a day. There's great snorkeling at Baby Beach, on the south end of the island. For a fun bar, try Charlie's.

Don't forget to visit the Butterfly Farm near Aruba Phoenix. Visiting Baby Beach on the South Eastern end of the island is a must. Arikok National Park is also worth visiting. Do not limit yourself to the resort area but try to explore the entire island. Aruba is not just sun sea and sand it has lots of intresting things to see..This picture was taken by B Raaphorst at the Arikok National Park on the island this year. Click on the picture to enlarge. At the horizon you can see the haystack hill which is one of Aruba's natural landmarks. From the Yamanota Hill which 617ft high (highest point on the island) you can see the coast of Venezuela at the horizon on a often clear beautiful day. This picture was taken at Yamanota which offers a view on the entire beautiful island of Aruba.

I would recommend a trip to Baby Beach - calm inlet waters with access to snorkel gear and great relaxing time. Also, must visit the tunnel of love. Probably have to ask a local for directions, it is off the VERY beaten path, but is worth it. It is a cave tour, guided with flash lights - very interesting

AH WELL ,,THAT'S PROGRESS.......THE CACINOS ARE THE BIG A DRAW AND GIVE YOU A GOOD TIME FOR YOUR MONEY. THE HOTELS HAVE ADDED LARGE BUFFETS THAT ARE FANFASTIC. If you get on Route 1 and head east until you pass San Nicolas, you can follow signs to Baby Beach. It's kind of hidden, but it's great. The beach is surrounded by a reef, so the waters are very calm and are great for Snorkeling. It's just a nice quiet beach!
