Arikok National park is a place to wander around the cactuses, divi divis, listen to birds and see iguanas.. Tke your binoculars hat and water bottle and wear a covered shoe. There are some poisonous smakes. They will probably avoid you but watch where you step! Also if you are interested in photography there are typical dutch style houses in the countryside. Go to Ceroe Colorado, see the beautiful scenery looking to Rogers beach (a.m. is good for taking photos)and stop at the beautiful non denominational Community Church. That area was closed to people and was the private community for the ESSO gas co. employees. They have streets, little white houses a nice club house and a beautiful 'Baby Beach'. Now it is open to public but I heard the beach got dirty with trash! Manchebo beach is the place wher Europeans feel comfortable for nude sunbathing which is still a novelty for most...

The resort we stayed at (Marriott Aruba Ocean Club) has this wonderful restaurant event called 'Simply Fish.' What they do is every Tuesday through Saturday convert their beach to a lovely little fresh fish restaurant. Imagine sitting in a hut on the beach with the beautiful sunset reflecting off of the perfect waters while you feast on great fresh seafood (I had the Tuna - it was great; my wife had the Seabass and said it was excellent as well). Not to be missed!

Rent a 4WD vehicle and drive the rugged north shore.

Gold Mines

by cruisingbug

Further east along the north coast from the California Lighthouse (west of the Natural Bridge) are the ruins of Aruba's gold mines. Not much left here, but worth a stop.

Alto Vista Chapel

by cruisingbug

Along the north shore is an unlikely chapel, set off by itself among the rocky terrain. The first chapel in Aruba, it seems to still be an active, so be respectful of anyone inside.

Rock Sculptures

by cruisingbug

Along the north shore between the lighthouse and the Natural Bridge there are hundreds of rock sculptures. You can stop and make your own - but don't knock any over! It's bad luck.
