Beware...since September 11th, the airport authority of Aruba will not allow anyone leaving the island to carry any type of electrical item on the airplanes. This includes anything with a battery, camera, walkman, cd player, LAPTOP COMPUTER. You will have to check all of it. My suggestion is the leave the any item you are not willing to check, ie. the laptop. Bring typical summer and beach gear. But also bring a light jacket. The breezes can make it a little chilly in the evening. Bring plenty of sunblock.

As is the case with any travel, it helps to put some identifying ribbons, tags, etc on your bags to make identification easier. Many people accidentaly pick up the wrong bags...you would be surprised. Also, due to the hightened security when leaving Aruba you are no longer allowed to take any electronic devices or batteries on the plane. Although the temperature stays around 80 degrees year round (due to the wind) it can get pretty hot when you go to town. I have seen many people in jeans that didn't look very happy at all. So keep that in mind when you head into town. Pack light clothes for the day and lots of sunscreen. Leave your worries at home. If you have any prescriptions, for your safety, carry a copy of the prescription with you just in case any questions arise. You'll have many photo opportunities in Aruba so pack a lot of film and be prepared. If you are an advanced...

We took as few suitcases and duffle bag type luggage as possible. We had locks on everything we took because of them going through customs. A must is bathing suits and shorts. If you are spending time outdoors during the day you wear as little as possible because of the temperature. Most people wear their suits under their shorts all the time. In the evenings you will need light weight pants and a light weight jacket or sweater. The breezes really cool off the evenings and when you go into resturants or casinos, the air conditioning really feels cool!!! Sunscreen is a must!!!!! No matter who you are, you will burn if you aren't protected, especially between 11:00am and 2:00pm. They recommend not to be out in the sun at those times but we are and have sunscreen on. The grocery stores have really improved and you can buy almost anything that you may have forgotten to pack. Their...

There is only a minimum of clothes required for Aruba.Still close at the latin continent we expect you wear som decent clothes in the evening or when you go shopping. There are no nude beaches on Aruba. (Exept you now some private or secret spots...) For topless sunbathing: go to Manchebo Beach, but however you 'work' on your tan, always dress yourself with a good tan lotion. The sun is a lot much UV-richer than your own place !!!Specially when your active in the sun, wear something ! You shouldn't be the first one in the local hospital whith sunBURN !!!Pictured again is me and my Ferrarri Convertible in the local -ahum- landscape. The mad disease who let me put my Belgium flag on top of my 2 cilinder sportscar calls:'soccer world games' and infect the island every 4 years. 64 different nationalities live in Aruba and all live toghetter with practicly no frictions. Soccer, Baseball,...

Bring clothes which you can layer. For example, a light sweater for cooler nights. LOTS of sunscreen, and when you do get burned take advantage of the aloe vera plants growing in the wild there. Break off a leaf and rub it on your burn.

Mostly casual clothing and don't forget your bathing suit! If you want to go out to the casinos at night...most have dress codes. Please bring some good sunscreen! This photo shows part of the private island that the Sonesta has built up.

It doesn't really matter what kind of bag you take with you, but the best thing is something you can lock. This in relation to drugs. The weather on Aruba is alway hot! so wear airy clothes. But in the Casino's or movie theater it is colder (the airco is very good overthere), so when you go there take something with you. Bring some snorking equipment with you!

Aruba has beautiful weather, all year round. Pack loose fitting, comfortable clothes. Most restaurants allow for casual dress. If you plan to partake in any sort of water activities, make sure to buy a disposable, underwater camera for your trip. They are $10 at Target, but $20 at your hotel. Also, they sell the camers on the organized snorkel trips if you completely forget until you are on the boat. All the hotels and timeshares will provide you with beach towels. What you really need to remember is the sunscreen. If you have to purchase it while in Aruba, you will pay double what you would in the U.S. For anyone with long hair, pack a headband and plenty of ponytail holders. Those constant tradewinds keep the tempeatures bearable, but wreak havoc on your hair. Most restaurants have outdoor dining and you will be happy to have something to tie your hair back with!

It is always hot! About 95 the entire time we were there. Occasionally you might get a breeze at night, but still wonderful. Indoors, because of air-conditions, were the worst. It got cold indoors quite a bit. I like taking pictures so I brought lots of film and several different types of cameras. Especially if you do any of the tours/events. Buy your film before you go. Save a few dollars.

You won't need to take much, a couple of swimming suits & shirts to wear at the beach. Some nice casual clothing for going out at night. Sandals. That's about it. One more thing - you may want to bring an extra pair of sunglasses in case you lose your first pair. Vaurnets & Bolles can go for $175 - $300 U.S. in Aruba.
