piazza: chic food

by xristinaki

piazza is located in the main lobby of the Reniassance hotel. There's two parts to it, a little kiosk where yu can grab some icecream, coffee or a crepe, and the sit down restaurant. We came here first for breakfast whcih was very good. A large plate of pancakes, sausage, eggs, and bacon with coffee and orange juice costs 12$....we later ate here for luch and got the panini...just as delicious.

Que Pasa: great food and service

by xristinaki

We saw that this was a busy restaurant and since the restuarant we were hoping to go to was closed (sunday) we decided to eat at que pasa....it was very cute with the mexican lights outside...tables for two are around the building outdoors, and indoors for larger parties. We got the goat cheese salad...this was to die for! a delicious and large piece of goat cheese with some walnuts and a sweet sause glaze, and the salad underneath was yummy. Everything was great....and the service was the best we had that week.

various fast food: fast food

by xristinaki

i was surprised to see how many fast food places there are....pizza hut, MC.D'S, Burger King, Wendy's etc....We would occasianally eat at these places for luch or to get a quick drink or sundae. This may be a good choice for the younger one's who are picky...get a happy meal.

iguana joe's: good enough to go twice..or even three times

by xristinaki

The portions given are HUGE! the prices are very reasonable (10-15-20$). It is downtown so you can walk around or visit the nearby casino...the first time we went i got the seafood/chicken pasta dish. i couldn't even get through a quarter of it, so you can even share with you're sig.other, and get a side dish. The second time i got the jerk chicken...i was surprised when i saw it in a sandwich form but it was still very good.

The Buccaneer: Best seafood !!!!

by xristinaki

This was my favorite meal in Aruba....i got the seafood platter for 20$$ and came with their signature stuffed shrimp (stuffed with crab meat)...wich was unbelievable! Also, some squid in a creamy sauce, muscles and i think mahi mahi....all were yummy. we also got the lobster soup which was just as delicious as the meal.there are huge tanks with tropical fish and even a shark! It's supposed to make you feel you're underwater, with huge nets on the ceiling with blue plexiglass....it was neat.

Salt & Pepper: Fun place to eat!

by dnsantos

We always eat at Salt & Pepper's when we visit Aruba. The atmosphere is inviting and the food and drinks are awesome. Tell Humphrey Dave & Nadine from the States say Hi!!! The tapas are interesting. The Club sandwich is great and the Margarita's are perfect.

Thirst Aid Station: On the East Side

by grandmaR

When we wanted lunch and we were down on the south end of the island, Bob remembered this little snack place. It is at the site of the former Natural Bridge. Aruba has several natural bridges, some of them difficult to reach. A shorter bridge is located next to the one that collapsed. I don't know, since the big bridge has fallen, how much longer it will be a viable location especially since the smaller bridge could go at any time. An article from USA today said, "A crack had appeared at one end of the bridge several years ago", said Jose Joseph, who owns a nearby snack and souvenir shop. "We lost the mother. But we still have the daughter," Joseph said. I got a kind of meat pastry, and Bob got a "finger dog" (a hot dog inside dough for $1) and a pineapple drink which was carbonated. This cost us under $6.00.

Iguana Joe's: Fun Food and Pink Iguanas

by SabrinaSummerville

I asked the concierge at our hotel to make a reservation for me at Iguana Joe's - I had heard so much about it that I simply had to go. I was surprised when she replied that they don't take reservations here.A couple of days later I took a taxi into Oranjestad, and we stopped right outside the Royal Plaza Mall, whereupon I looked up and found myself staring right at Iguana Joe's. "We're having lunch here today", I announced, and so we did. It's a very unpretentious and fun place, situated on the first floor of the mall, overlooking the cruise harbour. It's part open air and part covered, and I'd recommend getting one of the high stools by the rails so you can oversee the street outside plus everything going on inside. The place is thronged, packed to capacity, but the crowd moves fast and service is fast and pleasant. There's also a cute merchandise shop, great to pick up local souvenirs...

Pirate's Nest: Barefoot Sunset Eatery

by SabrinaSummerville

The Pirate's Nest is the name of the restaurant at the Bucuti Beach Hotel. If you read any reviews on Bucuti they are generally excellent, except when it comes to the restaurant where reviews are poor. I disagree with the poor reviews as I found the food here to be really good. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a different menu for each.Service is generally outside on the beach front deck overlooking the sea. In the day this attracts a lot of flies, but at night it's more than pleasant with the fairy lights on the trees and the waves crashing in the background. On one occasion it was a rainy night so tables were set inside, which was lovely and did have the atmosphere of eating inside an old pirate ship. Watch out for the iguanas who nest in the rafters at night - they love the warmth of the electrical cables!Service is always pleasant, but efficiency is hit and...
