Iguana Joes: Famous Pink Lizard

by nicole85

Fun restaurant in the downtown area. It has a bar along with both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors and it was so nice! I had the palm beach salad, and it was very good. The salads were pricey but worth it. Everything on the menu looks good. Their drinks are also very good, I got the pink lizard which was like a milkshake or something!! sooo good!

Carlos and Charlie's: Tequila!

by nicole85

Totally loved this place. Our whole group went there for dinner. My friend and I shared a couple appetizers, quessadillas and nachos for our meal. They were totally delicious. The drinks are good too, and so is dessert. We liked it so much the first time we came that we went back on our last day just for the drinks and dessert. The staff here is great, they interact with you. We were in conga lines, got sombreros, and free tequila shots! The nachos and quessadillas are amazing. For dessert we got their special mexican caramel crepes. This was too rich and caramely for some people, but it was my favorite. It also came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Another dessert we had were the crunchy balls...this is icecream coated with peanute brittle and then sauces. This was delicious as well. But the one thing you must have at this restaurant is a yard! For $12 you get a 28 ounce drink in a...

Jamaica Me Krazy: Best Jerk Food

by nicole85

This is a Jamaican and Bob Marley themed restaurant. The decor is so cool, all rasta colors. It is a small cute place, playing reggae music. They also have several specialty drinks, all made with Jamaican overproof rum. I got the Bob Marley and it was quite a drink. The prices were definitely reasonable, and me and my friend split a dish here for lunch. We each had a drink, shared the meal, and shared a dessert and it only cost us $15 each. This was the cheapest I found here. I had a combo platter which had legs, wings, and chicken breast. It came with their special sauce which was amazing. They were the best chicken wings I ever had! Also rum cake for dessert...one of the best things I had tasted!

MooMba Beach Bar and Restaurant: A Must for All Ages!

by Scott&Ruth

Atmosphere and Atmosphere! Located on the beach...... fantastic fine dining to the right and an awesome bar to the left. We watched the Superbowl on the "big screen" while looking at the ocean. The bartenders are so friendly...(very shocking because we are from the states, they would fix you a shot and then take one with you!) Unique because they had little boutiques, pool tables to play while all being in the sand. Big trees cut so it was like you were in a secluded island of your own. A local favorite with cover bands and live music nightly. A MUST FOR ALL!!!

Cuba's Cookin': The Best Mojitos in Town !

by amapola66

Cuba's Cookin' didn't dissappoint. We had a great time there. The restaurant is intimate, colourful and does the most authentic Mojitos in town. (They are pretty pokey, so take care)!Pictured here, the in-house musicians performing at the restaurant, who unusually, were of a very high musical standard. Surrounded by original art, we tucked into some traditional Cuban food. The portions were large (I couldn't finish mine), preceeded by some dips, one of which call blow the roof off your mouth, the other two sweet and flavoursome.A small bout of rumba dancing was followed by a large cognac & the smoking of some of the finest Cuban cigars in the charmingly kitsch cigar salon. There is an adjoining room full of lepoard print sofas etc where the Small Person had a little nap while the grown ups indulged. Children are made very welcome. We wish we had returned on the following Wednesday when...

Fishes and More: Local, Cheap

by C&JTay

This is a small family owned place across the street from the Raddisson Resort. Tropical decore and seating availible outdoors, as well. Staff is very friendly and is mainly college kids from the Netherlands. Fishes and More was recommended by local dive shop owner as one of the best affordable places around. The menu is unique in that you can pick the type of fish you want and they will prepare it anyway you ask. They hae a large selection of fresh caught fish and are very accomidating to what you ask for. We went 2 or 3 times because of this reason alone. Very nice place for a cheap, but excellent meal.

Sunset Grill: Don't MIss

by C&JTay

WOW!!!! I don't know what else to say! This place is located in the Raddisson Resort and is considered one of the best on the island. It is a more formal environment and offers a chance at a nice romantic dinner. The view overlooks the resort and the beach. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu consists of a mix of Asian and local flavors, with a good wine selection. I will worn you, it is not inexpensive. For 2,including drinks and dessert, be prepared to spend $150 US easily, but is worth it. Everything was outstanding. I had fresh snapper and my wife had lobster. For dessert, I got a Passion Fruit Canolie that was incredible!! One of the best meals we have ever eaten!!

Amici: Italian Street Cafe in Aruba

by nanakai

If you are staying in the Palm Beach "high rise" hotel area, this is a great place for breakfast, sandwiches, panini, gelato, desserts, coffee, or even a cocktail. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is very nice. Once we discovered it, we went there every day for lunch and again in the evening for dessert and coffee. Curried chicken salad sandwich on a baguette

Cuba's Cookin': Reserve Tables Ahead in High Season

by amapola66

We have been told, that in high season in Aruba, you are advised to reserve your table in restaurants at least a week ahead. Some internet investigations backed up this theory when I discovered lists of reservations., created by future Aruba visitors of all the restaurants they intend to eat in during their stay.HmmmNot being the sort of family to plan things in such detail and usually rather preferring to 'wing it' I thought a bit, and decided to make an online reservation just for one night in advance and hope for the best for the rest !We wanted a place with a good reputation for food, that had a bit of personality, possibly some music and that would also be suitable for the Small Person to enjoy. After some searching, we decided to reserve a table at 'Cubas Cooking' for one evening during our stay. The restaurant comes well recommended, is child friendly, has an in-house art gallery,...

The Promenade: Authentic Aruban Food

by cruisingbug

Since we were in Aruba for 10 days, we took a trip to San Nicolas on "the other side" of the island, and chose The Promenade from a dining guide. Hard to find place, although it's on Main Street. But once you're inside, you're treated well. We seemed to be the only patrons (it was a late lunch/early dinner). The seafood tempura is NOT the fried kind in the States - which was explained to us before we ordered. I liked it, but it was different, a bit like ceviche. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Prices are in florins, which makes for a nice value at the end of your meal.
