Take a trip on the Jolly Roger...

by Kiptravel

Take a trip on the Jolly Roger pirate ship for a rum-filled great day out. Those who are easily offended should not take the trip on a Saturday. Beware of the lethal rum punch. Some of the best memories are just sitting on the beach and watching the sunset with a bottle of Banks and some friends.

Relax, take it easy, plan nothing. We caught the tail of a hurricane for two days and on the first whilst swimming we noticed the sea in the distance changing colour. In a little while we could see the huge raindrops hitting the water and coming towards us fast until BOOM it was on us like bee-stings, over the beach and away over the island. All over in 30 seconds.

Take things easy and not try...

by enkku

Take things easy and not try to do too many things at the same time because if there is a paradise on earth it must be there and nobody wants to rush in paradise. You must also explore the island and not just lie on the beach, no matter how wonderful that may be because that is how you get to learn some very friendly and helpful locals. The lovely sunset swims on the west coast with just a few (if any) other people silently enjoying the same things. All the best memories are somehow related to the sea. Catamaran sailing with 'Cool Runnings' whose crew was just marvellous and the number of passangers they take is limited and thus gives everyone enough space to find where to sit/lie. Lunch was delicious and the stops for swims, snorckling and feeding sea turtles were nice and relaxing. Next time we'll try a night sail.Huge breakers on the east coast were nice to watch and listen to but not...

Eat flying fish at a Fish...

by Louby

Eat flying fish at a Fish Cook-Out. The food was soooo good and washed down with a Banks beer. This one was in Bridgetown on a Saturday night - ask the hotel reception where these take place. A mixture of locals and tourists hang out at these cook-outs.

visit the caverns, talk to the locals. Everyone was so nice and friendly. They made great recommendations. But be careful if you drive. It is English so you drive on the left but the biggest problem is the tall cane. You can't see past it and natives just honk as they go through an intersection-but they don't slow down. It's an experience! Beautiful beaches, constant tradewinds, friendly people

Take a view of the dramatic coastline on the eastern coast of Barbados. Because the island is generally known for its calm, clear waters and white sand beaches, this side of the island is not as touristed. The sand is darker and there are rock formations on the coast, but the sight is breathtaking and the people are friendly. Because this side of the coast borders on the Atlantic, the waves are rougher and the undertow can sometimes be quite strong so be careful. The area is good for surfing (so they say--didn't try it myself) and there is the famed Soup Bowl on the east coast. There are wonderful 'swimming pools' where you can enjoy the Caribbean sun and refreshing water while you mingle with local residents. The most pleasant moment I've had, not just in Barbados, but in a long time, is laying on a hammock in the shade with a view of the ocean, the breeze through the palm trees, a...

First visit the port city of Bridgetown, before heading to the breathtaking Atlantic Coastline and to historic St. John's Church. St. John's Church was an extraordinary sight. This is a must see when visiting Barbados.

Enjoy the food at CARAMBOLA -- fantastic setting, very romantic, gourmet food and wonderful host. A must see/experience. The beaches -- Sandy Beach is our favorite -- calm, turquoise, warm water; Also, Bottom Bay -- very picturesque, secluded and tropical (romantic)
