McBride's: Luck of the Irish

Another good place to enjoy the nightlife is this Irish Pub situated in the Gap.The food is great and enjoy the meal on the patio outside, then onto the pub.The line up for the week is roughly Mon they have a DJ,2 for 1 drinks from 9pm till closing. Tue,Wed,Thur have live bands ranging from reggie to rock. Fri ladies night. Sat 70's to 80's and Sun a mix of all types of music.Rated the #3 night club in Barbados by Zagat's Best of barbados survey. Casual wear and no beach wear.

The Ship Inn: Good Times

The Ship Inn is one of Barbados's oldest Bar establishments.It's been around for 30 years so it must be good.It has Live music on Thurs,Sat and sundays and a DJ the other. open 7 might a week.You can dine in one of it's restaurants and dance the night away in one of it's bars. There no cover charge if you dine. Dress code is casual but no beach wear.

Harbour Lights: Harbour Lights

Me and some guests from our Hotel went to Harbour Lights open-air beachfront club. One of the island's most popular, tropical and trendy night clubs. With its live music it was really good fun dancing on the sand, but very tiring. Check as they do special events each week.

AKA 'Hassle central': St Lawrence Gap

I've read many reviews that St Lawrence Gap is the place to be and be seen on any night in Barbados. Out hotel (Southern Palms) was based at the quieter end of the Gap and we really weren't that keen on the Gap. Across the road from our hotel were some nice gift shops and some nice restuarants..that were quiet and quite relaxing. We went there every night of our weeks holiday. We ventured further down the Gap on a couple of occasions and refused to go down there on day 3 or 4 of our holiday. You simply get hassled by gobby and loud mouthed Bajans wanting something for nothing or you're expected to hear them ramble on for hours at such speed you can't even understand what they're saying.There's one chap who hangs out down there all day called 'Fox' and after telling you about the colours of a bracelet, he'll then ask you to buy him a burger.Also there's another one who is loud tall and...

Fishermans Pub: My home away from home

My first stop here was in 1998. Ever since this time, I make it my first stop, in between stop and end stop! Wednesday nights are fantastic! Atmosphere, food and even the drinks will have you wanting to come back every time! There is live Steel Drums and Limbo Dancers who also get the crowd involved. The music by the DJ is driving and reaches your soul. When you stop in, tell Armstrong that Tallee sent you! Be clean and be ready to have the time of your life!

Barbados has everything from local bars, small secluded restraunts, private clubs, casinos, nightclubs, cruise dining, old time dance halls to burger/grill bars. there is something to please everyone on this tiny island. most events are well advertised. you can take in a night of jazz, reggae, steel drums, hip hop. what ever you desire, you will find it all. BBQ nights are cheap and cheerful, usually held over the weekends. Or you may want to dictate the sounds, in which case there are kareoky bars, and traditional pubs with duke boxes. what ever your taste- enjoy! Long trousers are expacted for men on an evening and smart/casual for the ladies. use common sence- would you be allowed to enter a casino in your home town wearing shorts, flip flops and donning a bare chest? The Reggae Lounge: Living it up Bajan Style!

Just about the best place to have a good time at St Lawrence Gap has to be the REGGAE LOUNGE. There are special theme nights and live PAs and guest DJs. I attended on a thursday night in October to witness international reggae star Frankie Paul. DJs from all over the world come to play at the REGGAE LOUNGE but resident DJ Adrian mixes a great range of tracks to get you on to the dancefloor. I am sure I even heard "how deep is your love?" and "hips dont lie" -so not just reggae and dancehall!On Monday its $25 and as much drink/cocktails as you like! Staff and management greet you with that welcoming Bajan smile and good humour. No dress code - less is best!

I went to habor lights a few times friday and sunday it was packed with young peopleadmission includes your drinks for the nightthey have a beach party a couple of times a week I highly recommend this they have acrobates fireeater silly games dinner and drinks for one admission price there was no dress code I was aware of

St. Lawrence Gap: Looking for a crazy time?

The gap, as it is referred to by the locals, is a long street with a multitude of restaurants, bars, and small shops/vendors that is great for anyone looking to get a feel for the Barbados nightlife. Not much is going on there in the early evening, but by nightfall the place becomes busy and full of people looking to have a good time. Have your cab driver drop you off at one end and just walk the street to the other end. Along the way, stop at the restaurants and read the menus located outside the door to find exactly what you are looking for. Most of the bars are open air... have a seat at the railing, enjoy a drink and soak up the atmosphere while people watching. Be careful walking along the road as it is very narrow and winding, with cars and taxis making their way through the crowds. When i was in barbados the entertainment in the hotels was good and you really didnt need to go out.Most evenings there was something different on,steel band or live music. no special dress requirements casual but smart.
