Cafe Sol: Cafe Sol

by sunshine_nik

This place is so nice and they often run 2 for one specials at happy hour. Its a tiny bar on the corner of the main strip at The Gap and its perfect for watching people go by.They are also a Mexican restaurant so they play great salsa-esque music most of the time.

The Boat Yard: The Boat Yard

by sunshine_nik

This place really gets going late at night and can have some amazing bands playing. There is normally a cover fee which includes drinks.Don't be put off by the metal detector at the door- it really is safe!

Harbour Lights: An outdoor night club

by dracko

This is a fairly happening night club. It's fronted by an old converted house, with an outdoor club behind it - complete with a bar, dance floor, beach, and even a burger shack. There're plenty of covered areas in case it rains (like it did when we went there). The crowd is mostly tourists, we didn't see many locals. Good mix of pop and local music, but all good and something that can be danced to. And the atmosphere was pretty relaxed... All in all a nice place to hang out and meet people. Cover on a Friday night was $35 Barbados ($17.5 US), and that included unlimited drinks.. Casual. Dress shorts or slacks, nice shirt perhaps. It's a nightclub, not a pub, afterall. :)

St Lawrence Gap: St Lawrence Gap

by ratherton

St Lawrence Gap is a 1.3km stretch of road to the east of Bridgetown which is reknowned for restautants, lively nightlife and good shopping. We were All-Inclusive at our hotel so we didn't eat out but on the occasion we did visit "The Gap", we had a good time.

Cafe Sol: St Lawrence Gap

by pmarshuk

Wonderful spot on the corner in the Gap. Has a terrace around the outside so you can sit and watch all the comings and goings into the Gap. Has two happy hours during the night so you can overdose on the Margaritas and rum punch. Also happened to be within a hundred metres or so of our hotel so was very easy to get to and from, especially from afer thos Margaritas. Anything goes (almost)

Reggae Lounge: Best spot on the Gap

by minkota

This open-air nightclub offers the opportunity to dance the night away under the stars, surrounded by natural, tropical vegetation. The club offers a wide range of music, from reggae mellow music and Rhythm and Blues to some modern. One of the nights I was there they had a great live reggae band. I don't think this place had one.

St. Lawrence Gap: Great nightlife

by minkota

This area in Barbados is where it is at. There are a string of great bars/restaurants and clubs. They some of which have great drink specials, some of which can be negotiable. St.Lawrence Gap, a 1.3 km stretch of road in the parish of Christ Church Some clubs have dress codes, most of which say no shorts or t-shirts. Just depends on which one you want to go to.

Oistins

by Richard_Townend

Every friday night Oistins becomes the main location for nightlife in Barbados. It takes place next to the fish market and vendors cook the days fresh catch on open grills or by frying. It is absolutely brilliant, tastes great and is cheap. The best one to visit is called The Fish Net as they grill theirs. Various delicacies include Red Snapper, Swordfish, Shark, Marlin and Tuna.To accompany the food there is live open air entertainment with local bands playing whilst you can get merry with the cheap alcohol on offer. It's best to get there about 6.30pm before the queues for the food get too big and leave by midnight as most of the tourists have gone home by then. No dress code.

Harbour Lights/Boatyard

by Richard_Townend

Both of these are open air bars set on/next to the beach, under swaying palm trees. Two nights a week each of them offer a free drinks night which costs no more than £15. The opening hours are about 9pm-3am so you definitely get your money's worth! The Boatyard is bigger and has better entertainment on but Harbour Lights has a sand dancefloor which is great! An excellent night out that is cheap, and that is rare in Barbados! Just about anything is ok, although men can't take their shirts off.

Eating out and drinking.

Chefette Restaurants were great value for money.I found their menu very good, great choice of food and great value. You could eat it outside or inside or go through the drive-through.A salad was BDS $4,Pizza BDS $19 and a quarter pounder was BDS $5.Chefette Barbique Barn also had great food and prices. It was quite upmarket too.It has air-conditioning and very relaxing and comftable atmosphere. The menu was wonderful. They had chicken, steak, ribs, fish and burgers, served with jacket spud, rice, garlic butter bread and veggies.I enjoyed the deluxe salad bar.The wines were also great.Steak cost about BDS$22-25,chicken cost BDS $20 and the salad bar cost BDS $5-10.
