Mike's is an open grill in Oistins. It is one of many eating places that open in Oistins at night, but it is THE best on the island. When you go to Oistins in the evening (from about 6pm), don't just settle for the first place you see, try to find Mike's. Look around for it, or ask one of the locals. Its the same price as the rest, but the fish just melts in your mouth. You can get grilled marlin, tuna, dolphin, swordfish and more.
I don't have a favourite at Mike's, its just all so good! Once you've been once, you'll go back again and again, to try all the different dishes they offer. You'll thank me for this tip one day! Leave a Comment

Pizzaz Logo by luke850 Pizzaz is a lovely little restaurant/cafe, selling mostly Italian food. They have pizza, lasagne, spaghetti, salads etc. It seems to be run by locals, so i don't quite know how they manage to make such good Italian foods, but they do, so check it out!
This is the place where i had the most delicious lasagne EVER! It was only ?4, in english money, and it filled the whole plate. Worth going all the way back just for another one! Atlantis surfside brunch by MaineIslandgal A tired old oceanfront home serves up a delicious array of Bajan specialties. A buffet of bajan foods such as pepper pot, macaroni pie, flying fish, dolphin, souse, yams, curried chicken, rice and peas, roasted pork and ham, all tempted diners for multiple trips to the buffet. A large array of desserts, orange cake, coconut pie to name a few, also caught the attention of many a sweet tooth. Reservations are necessary. Sunday brunch was priced at $50BDS per person. A good way to acquaint oneself with local food.
The variety was the allure for me at this brunch. No one food blew me away but I truly enjoyed the options available to me. Bubba's by luke850 Bubba's Sports Bar is exactly what it sounds like, a typical American sports bar. It has a large number of screens showing every sport that is on at the time, American style decor with sports memorabilia everywhere, a large bar and an expensive menu. The food on offer is generally the kind you'd find in an American sports bar - burgers, chips, hotdogs etc - and is very expensive when compared to food on the rest of the island. They offer a number of drinks, and is the only place on the island that i found to sell pitchers and pints. When there is a big sporting event on, they tend to charge for entry, which can be annoying.
When i went to Bubba's i tended to stay away from the foods i could get at home, so i preferred to just try snacks, such as the breaded flying fish. This is about the only non-american thing on the menu. However, it was nice to get a pitcher in an air conditioned environment! On a Friday night go along to Oistins and join in the fish fry for both a meal and then a night out. The food is served from any one of many trailers around the fish market, you need to have a look at all of them before deciding which one is for you, just take your pick. While walking around have a couple of bottles of Banks to keep you going. While you eat and drink you can listen to the music and watch people gathering in the open areas ready for the party which goes on into the night.
This is a great place to try out one of the Bjan national dishes - flying fish and cou cou. Leave a Comment Theme: Street VendorPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: OistinsDirections: Follow the crowd and the the noise, you can't miss it.

by Richard_Townend The food here is great and you get loads of it. It also has a small outdoor bar where you can socialise before or after your meal. Each night they have a special 2-4-1 offer on a set drink as well as a happy hour between 9-10pm.
Hard to say. Have tried many different dishes and have yet to find one I don't like. However special mention must go to the Blistering Hot Chili. That was intense! The best meal we had, and it was the cheapest too!
Ribs - apparently they're famous for them - really succulent, falls off the bone. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Between St Lawrence Gap and BridgetownDirections: On the main coast road (but not on the coast side)

Barbecue Barn is part of the Chefette line of restaurants. This one was right next to a Chefette. They have appetizers, platters of grilled steak, chicken, fish, burgers or roast beef, sides and garnishes. There is also cool turkey and roast beef wraps and free beverage refills and self-service deluxe salad bars. You order your meal and they cook it. You find your own table and you pick the food up when your number is called. We also used the bathrooms which were spotless. Opening Hours 12:00 Noon to 11:00 pm • Wheelchair Access • Indoor Dining or • Take-Away • Non-Smoking ,
I got a quarter chicken, macaroni and corn chow and juice, and Bob and Leif both got the Gourmet Burger which was half a pound and too much for either of them to eat. The total was 77.50 BD$ Leave a Comment Theme: BarbecuePrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averagePhone: (246) 436-5000 for take-awayDirections: Rockley located opposite the popular Accra Beach on the South Coast in Christ Church and the centrally located Warrens, just outside the City on the popular Highway 2A in St. Michael.Website: http://www.chefette.com/BBQBarn.cfm

Outide the "Fish Net" by Richard_Townend Every friday night Oistins becomes the main location for nightlife in Barbados. It takes place next to the fish market and vendors cook the days fresh catch on open grills or by frying. It is absolutely brilliant, tastes great and is cheap. The best one to visit is called The Fish Net as they grill theirs. Various delicacies include Red Snapper, Swordfish, Shark, Marlin and Tuna. To accompany the food there is live open air entertainment with local bands playing whilst you can get merry with the cheap alcohol on offer. It's best to get there about 6.30pm before the queues for the food get too big and leave by midnight as most of the tourists have gone home by then.
My favourite is either the Marlin or Red Snapper. Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Oistins fish marketDirections: About 4 miles from the airport

Dancing and Talking by bluewilldo Close your eyes (well, not really because you have to read this) and imagine an outdoor party, almost. The smell of jerked and seasoned fish of all kinds frying is light on the air and soothing to your lungs. People are all around laughing, drinking, talking to strangers, eating. You walk over to a man with a spatula and a white chef shirt. "What can I do you for?" the man asks in his traditional Bajan accent. The menu looms in front of you... Mahi-mahi, grouper, flying fish. He fries up you choice, hands you a plate overflowing with aromatic fish, potatoes, vegetables, and bread. There's a table a few meters away with two strangers sitting at it... you ask to sit and they agree. The night quickly comes to a close... you say goodbye to your new friends and head back to your hotel to dream of that night happening again.
Absolutely the Flying Fish. They have the best that I found on the island, but all the food is good. A local Banks Beer complements the meal perfectly. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveDirections: South coast of the island
