Zen: Really Good Sushi

by Sunniebgi

Located at The Crane Resort in St. Philip, on the eastern side of Barbados, Zen is had a great decor, with views of the famous Crane Beach. They service both a Japanese menu and a Thai menu. All the food we have ever had there is good. I especially like the sushi. Freshly made, and delicious. While they don't have a child's menu, mine like the Teriyaki Beef and chicken.

BROWN SUGAR: A Real Bajan Disaster

by DenverJr.

This restaurant has a very unfortunate location, no ocean view and in Town... quite hot.Plus I found that nothing really special is offered , the food is "average" and the prices are quite hot!So ..if you add a simply gross service ( a real disaster with wine serving!!) ....this place is a total waste of time and money!!!With so many nice restaurants on the coast offering good food and nice hambience ...why to bother with such nosense?!

Bubba's: Sportwatching while you eat

by joanj

If you are staying on the south coast, especially the Rockley beach area, and you love watching sport, then this Sports Bar and Restaurant is for you.I quote from the brochure;-"First of it's kind in the West Indies, Live sports via two satellite dishes - 3 x 10ft. video screens, 12 additional TV's. Bajan A. La ~Carte Menu/Daily Lunch specials. Fully air conditioned. Facilities for the physically challenged."If you are a Brit, then they have a lot of the top division matches, so there is Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Baseball and a whole lot more. When we stay at the hotel opposite, as soon as we have checked in, we go across to Bubba's for a BLT and either fries or jacket potato. Just what we need after a long flight.

Champers: High End Bajan Cuisine

by TRimer

When I was researching where to eat in Barbados, this restaurant kept coming up. We were not dissapointed. We arrived a little early as we were not sure how long it would take to get there. They seated us right on the veranda on the water which was lovely. Our waitress was very friendly but not overbearing. After dinner we checked out the art gallery upstairs while waiting for our taxi. I started with the pumpkin soup which was quite delicious followed by the camberbet stuffed pastry with apples and the spinach salad with apples, pecans and blue cheese. Joe had the crab crepe au gratin and the pistatio crusted baracuda. For dessert, we had the double chocolate cheesecake which my husband is still commenting on.Hours:Mon- Sat: 11:30AM - 10:00PM

Barbecue Barn: Foreign Fast Food

by grandmaR

Barbecue Barn is part of the Chefette line of restaurants. This one was right next to a Chefette. They have appetizers, platters of grilled steak, chicken, fish, burgers or roast beef, sides and garnishes. There is also cool turkey and roast beef wraps and free beverage refills and self-service deluxe salad bars. You order your meal and they cook it. You find your own table and you pick the food up when your number is called. We also used the bathrooms which were spotless.Opening Hours12:00 Noon to 11:00 pm• Wheelchair Access • Indoor Dining or • Take-Away • Non-Smoking , I got a quarter chicken, macaroni and corn chow and juice, and Bob and Leif both got the Gourmet Burger which was half a pound and too much for either of them to eat. The total was 77.50 BD$

Harlequin: Starlight Dining

by peacecorpscharley

Service was a little slow but the atmosphere was so nice that it did not matter. The food was average. Great lobster, okay coconut shrimp and a fish chowder that I didnt like but my boyfriend did. The Lobster 2 ways

La Mer: Sunday Brunch is not to be missed!!!!

by NettiABM

Sunday Brunch at La Mer is amazing - in particular the seafood starters, sushi and sashimi section. However there is plenty of other good stuff for all tastes on the all-you-can-eat buffet - both hot and cold. The desserts are not to be sniffed at, either! The wine list is very good, and the ambience/setting beautiful. Very good for a slightly boozy afternoon ...

The Cliff: For a great experience...

by NettiABM

The Cliff is a fabulous restaurant - outstanding food in an incredibly stunning environment, exceedingly fine wines, good service. Not cheap, but worth it. Check the bill at the end of your evening as they do get things confused from time to time!

Zen: Awsome Asian Cuisine

by beachbino

The Zen restaurant is built into a cliff overlooking The Crane Beach. Some of the tables are right against the ceiling to floor windows, with a spectacular view of the beach. The decor is funky New York style Asian Fusion. The menu in Japaneese and Thai. Two seperate menus, so you could mix it up. Example: Appetizer from one dinner from the other, any way you want it.The food was so incredibly scrumptous, we ate there 3 times. The third time we had dinner there we were seated in our own inclosed booth, very private and cozy. We loved it although I would reccomend sitting at the tables with the beach view if it is your first time there. You shouldn't miss that!! Everything!!

Careenage Bar & Grille: Tempting Tapas

by mwenn2100

This restaurant has both an actual dining room and a more casual bar/dining room. The real dining room requires men to wear pants, etc but the barroom is more laid back (still, no swimsuits allowed). Both serve the same menu and we found the casual room to be more fun and welcoming. The room is all windows on two sides and offers a great view of the ocean/pool area. The waitstaff and bartenders were all very kind and accomodating. There was nightly entertainment on a small stage that was a lot of fun.We didn't eat any heavy meals here although the menu looked wonderful, but opted instead to sample the international tapas selection. The tapas available were Asian, Mediterranean, Caribbean, Spanish and a dessert tapas. It was a fun light meal in a great atmosphere. Each tapas dish was $25 bbs and were plenty for two to enjoy a light meal. The desert and Mediterranean tapas were my...
