Just Grillin: Grilled food in Rockley...eat in or take out

by MaineIslandgal

Just Grillin is located across the street from Accra Beach Resort. It is a well run establishment that has a window where you may place your order for the catch of the day, jerk chicken, steak or shrimp all grilled. You may ask for your order for take away or take a seat at the many large picnic tables they have available. If you are on Rockley Beach for a day in the sun this is a good place to grab lunch either to get out of the strongest midday sun or to bring back to your spot on the beach and enjoy. I ate two meals here while in Barbados. The first was the jerk chicken which was rather spicy but good. The second meal I had the steak which definitely wasn't the best I had ever had but good for Barbados. All meals had an array of sides to choose from such as, cole slaw, grilled vegetables, grilled potatoes, caesar salad. All sides were good. My boyfriend had the dolphin for one meal...

Atlantis Hotel & Restaurant: Bajan Sunday Brunch

by MaineIslandgal

A tired old oceanfront home serves up a delicious array of Bajan specialties. A buffet of bajan foods such as pepper pot, macaroni pie, flying fish, dolphin, souse, yams, curried chicken, rice and peas, roasted pork and ham, all tempted diners for multiple trips to the buffet.A large array of desserts, orange cake, coconut pie to name a few, also caught the attention of many a sweet tooth.Reservations are necessary. Sunday brunch was priced at $50BDS per person. A good way to acquaint oneself with local food. The variety was the allure for me at this brunch. No one food blew me away but I truly enjoyed the options available to me.

by C_L_T

Lots of different vendors offering great fresh local foods....chicken and fish dishes. Place your order, sit on the beach on picnic tables and wait for your food under the stars. Car park is transformed into an open air music venue later on in the night playing local music...fantastic!! Jerk Chicken...taste it and see why its a fave!!

Bonito Bar & Restaurant - Bathsheba: Good food with a sea view

by joanj

The restaurant upstairs has a wonderful sea view . With the windows open there is a lovely breeze to cool you down. After a walk along the shore at Bathsheba, this is just the place to have a cool drink, or a Bajan lunch. The Caribbean Buffet is my favourite. I guarantee that you will not want to eat another bite of food for the rest of the day, after sampling what is on offer.

KFC: Missing Home?

by luke850

If you're missing the pleasures of fast food, don't worry, you can find a number of KFC restaurants in Barbados! The menu's are similar to those in the US and Europe, as are the prices. The chicken meals are ok, but the burgers are not very good. They are a little rubbery, and just don't taste right.

Mike's: Best Grilled Fish In The World

by luke850

Mike's is an open grill in Oistins. It is one of many eating places that open in Oistins at night, but it is THE best on the island. When you go to Oistins in the evening (from about 6pm), don't just settle for the first place you see, try to find Mike's. Look around for it, or ask one of the locals. Its the same price as the rest, but the fish just melts in your mouth. You can get grilled marlin, tuna, dolphin, swordfish and more. I don't have a favourite at Mike's, its just all so good! Once you've been once, you'll go back again and again, to try all the different dishes they offer. You'll thank me for this tip one day!

Pizzaz: Quality Italian

by luke850

Pizzaz is a lovely little restaurant/cafe, selling mostly Italian food. They have pizza, lasagne, spaghetti, salads etc. It seems to be run by locals, so i don't quite know how they manage to make such good Italian foods, but they do, so check it out! This is the place where i had the most delicious lasagne EVER! It was only ?4, in english money, and it filled the whole plate. Worth going all the way back just for another one!
