Cave Shepherd: Duty Free

by joanj

The only Department Store in Barbados. When you shop in the store for tax free items, please note that on the price tag the local price and the duty free price are often both listed so do look for the DF price.Take your airline, or similar, ticket with you, or indeed your passport, and you can have your items sent to the cruise ship, or the airport terminal for your collection. This is always done for bottled goods, and wrapped to prevent breakages. local crafts, rum of course, and if you like the spices, then choose the plastic instead of glass bottles so they do not get broken, and are lighter to pack.Notethere are other Cave Shepherd outlets at Sunset Crest (West Coast)Speightstown (West Coast)HastingsAirport.

Fruit Stalls: Fresh Fruit

by luke850

You will find fruit stalls all over Barbados selling fresh fruit, including oranges, melons and pineapples. The fruit is fresh and tastes great! The prices are quite high for tourists, because the moment they see that you're not a local, the price roughly doubles. I know this because my dad usually gets a local to buy his fruit for him, and its a lot, lot cheaper than when i bought it! However, once the stall owners start remembering you, the price does go down a little. Varies from stall to stall.

Best of Barbados Gift Shops: Barbados Produced Goods

by grandmaR

These shops carry only high quality and well designed gifts all "made or designed in Barbados". I always prefer to buy gifts for the folks back home that were actually made at the place where I am visiting. This place is a cornecopia of really nice local gifts. They have water colour prints of the islands, ranges of kitchen and tableware accessories, jewellery, T-shirts and children's clothing, cookery books, board games, pottery, stationery, glass, ceramics and much more. One of the more recent projects was the production of the video Beautiful Barbados. The nicest thing I bought was the locally produced place mats which were on our breakfast talbe every morning. They are very useful. I also got T-shirts, a Bajan game that the children play, a pot holder and a watercolor of the chattel houses.

DAPHNE'S SEA SHELL STUDIO: She Sells Sea Shells....

by grandmaR

I thought this place sounded interesting so we tracked it down. Daphne had womens clothing made on the island, hand painted clothing, T-shirts that could have the picture of your choice applied, pictures frames, shell mirrors, ceramic ornaments, scarves and many other items. I bought some clothing and T-shirts. It took us awhile to find this place, but the road where it is had more on it than the one in this picture.

Shopping galore!

by 1Nomad

You name it, they have it. From t-shirts to jewelry, to just about anything else. The best part of shopping would be located in downtown Bridgetown. There are a lot of different types of shops and you'll have no problem locating plenty of souvenirs. Although we were not in the market for jewelry, we have heard that you can get some really great buy's here. The sky's the limit. We waited until the last day to purchase souvenirs. No sense in taking any kind of chances hauling all that loot around.
