The must see activity in Barbados is Bathseba with it's waves and the surfers who tackle them.It is awesome sight to see the waves pound the reef, and when you are there enjoy the beautifull view of the rugged east costline of Barbados.

The jolly Rodger booze cruise.

by KazB

Its about gbp30 but well worth it. A complementary bus picks you up from your hotel at takes you to the boat. Its a pirate ship with crazy pirates on board. After about 3 glasses of the pirates rum punch your well on your way. Theres music all day, a fab BBQ lunch, rope swings and dont bug the pirates or they make you walk the plank - blindfolded!! They take you to a desert island where you can either stay on board with the free booze and food or go and explore the island or go smorkling and on the way back the party really is a good laugh.

Atlantis Submarine Dive. We took a side trip and went down to 120'. We were chartered out on a boat and then transfered - one at a time. The vessel was a mini submarine, with seats on both sides with plenty of windows to look out to see fish and plants. The colors were beautiful. It was difficult to obtain good pictures of what you saw, at least with my camera equipment. You can't use a flash - because it reflects back off the glass. The deeper you go - the less color, due to being farther away from the light above. I do not remember the cost - but it was worth it and I would go again

Drinking! There's so many yummy tropical drinks (no calories, I swear!). Every bar and place has drink specials. And some include all you can drink local drinks in the price of entrance. My absolute favorite is Malibu (coconut rum) with pineapple juice. Rum punch is good too. The most popular brand of rum is Mount Gay.

Go out on a catamaran. It's so relaxing. You make stops to snorkel and watch the turtles being fed. The photo is from the catamaran of the west side of the island where the beach is the most tranquil.

Jolly Roger Cruise

by Island_Babe

I liked this cruise just because it was so the thing to do.I mean ordinarily I wouldn't do it,I find it a little touristy, but with a a group of people you have enormous fun. There are food, drinks and music available all day long, plus people swinging off ropes and walking the plank.Just go,indulge and have fun!

by Tara2001

Swimming at Crane Beach is a must. If you are adventurous and up for a challenge then this is for you. The waves at the Crane are massive, coming in from the Atlantic and smashing against the coral atolls before breaking in shallower swimming waters. Beware, do not swim too far out, the current is over whelming!

Catamaran trip

by anglosaxon

We went on 'Cool Runnings' because it had been recommended. The boat could have taken a maximum of 50 people but, the owner usually limited this to twenty. You see why when you see what 50 people looks like on another catamaran. It made for a very comfortable trip and that's why I am recommending it. It sails from Bridgetown up the coast with the wind where you stop to go snorkelling with turtles. You go further up the coast to stop for lunch on the boat and have another swim. Then you 'tack' back against the wind going further out into the sea where the 'Flying Fish' get their name. Then back to Bridgetown and to swim down to a shallow wreck near the harbour.

We didn't think there were any 'must see' places. Barbados was a place to just look around and see what you see. We did go on the Atlantis submarine though as the wedding was on board. It struck me as a bit hit or miss whether you would see anything and if you did see something you were lucky. The picture shows the 'seven wonders' of the island, none of which we visited. We listened to experience and picked our places.

by enkku

Have peaceful beach times. Take a catamaran sail (Cool Runnings recommended for its nice crew and uncrowded atmosphere)The North point with flower and animal cave, The East point Light House, Batscheba, The Welchman Gully, Harrison's cave (but find out if a cruise group is going to visit it at the same time - prepare for queuing)Driving on the little roads amongst sugarcane fields in an open little car, taking bus rides with the locals. Anything you do, you will enjoyCatamaran for eveyone who loves the sea. The peaceful atmosphere, stops for swimming in peaceful uncrowded bays, swimming with sea turtles.Listen to the waves is always wonderful for anyone who loves the sea.
