We hired a mini moke to get around the island and see as much of Barbados as we could. Being our first visit anywhere tropical, we were amazed to see bananas growing alongside the road!

We travelled quite extensively around the island, and many places did we come across sugar plantations and harvesting such as here.

On the Atlantic Coast you can find the small village of Bathsheba. At the time we were there, there was a small shop and a little café, which served dolphin sandwiches!

There were good 6-7 foot waves here. Surfboards and body boards for hire - cost about $USD 5 to hire a bodyboard, maybe more for a Surfboard. Relatively quiet in comparison with the west coast.
Take a nice stroll along the golden sands and find a lovely spot and sit down.Take out your book, take a deep breath and relax and just enjoy your day. :-)
