I visited Fido's twice. Once on my first night in San Pedro to eat and later for a couple of beers and to check out the band. The restaurant is upstairs and really was only average. I had lasagna and it was passable.
I when I took in the band four nights later, I was most pleased. The band was pretty good and did a mix of their own music and good cover versions. They really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Live music is offered here every night of the week. There are also several HDTV's hanging about and this is a good place to check out a sporting event on TV. The bar is large designed as a courtyard and it have a good selection of beer. Fido's is right on the water and I actually took in a lunar eclipse here. This is probably my favourite bar in San Pedro.

We had spotted the Palapa Bar and Grill on various ferry rides to and from San Pedro and thought it would be a great place to stop and have a few drinks, so on the day we rented bicycles we made the Palapa Bar & Grill the incentive to bike over a mile from our hotel.
As we arrived we parked and chained our bikes on the lower deck and proceeded up to the bar area. The bar is located at the end of a pier and wasn't large at all. There were quite a few people enjoying drinks, listening to a "singer" with a guitar and writing on the walls.
Apparently patrons are allowed to scribble on any surface that wish to, as long as they can safely get to it. There was graffitti all over the bar, including the ceiling and we wondered how the heck did the person get up there to tag their name.
They also serve food here.
Dress Code: We enjoyed a few bottles of Belikin beer and a shot of a "cherry-bomb"...

Smiling Toucan is the name of the hotel bar. The bar is open daily from about 11:30 til about 2am. They serve a large selection of yummy freshly made frozen drinks, all sorts of mixed drinks and of course wine they also serve a small selection of food items which you can enjoy with your drink as quick in between meal or as an evening snack.
Dress Code: Miriam and I enjoyed a few Rum Punches were here made to order from fresh fruits. We did also order the nachos as a snack before dinner after enjoying an afternoon snorkeling.

While swimming in the pool of my hotel you could hear this bar everywhere. It sounded loud and raunchy and I was in the mood for that at the time. I decided I had to pay a visit. The bar was just next door to mine. There was a live band playing outside of the bar on the beach, hence all of the noise. The drinks where cheap and everyone seemed to be having a good time. My initial impression of the place was very favourable. This was a good escape for Toronto's winter.
I went back three nights later and it was not so crowded but very loud. This is for the fact that the B.C. Bar seems to attract the type of traveler who drinks too much on vacation and become 21 again. Very immature and lots of mindless screaming. Some people may like this. As for the live band, it plays every Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 6pm.
Dress Code: You will feel over dressed in long pants.

Fido's was the only place that seemed to have a decent amount of people there, no matter what night of the week. They have live music nightly and the bands were good, although some of the songs perhaps a bit outdated. Still, people were dancing up a storm on Saturday night, and Sunday there was some nice mellow acoustic music.

Don't expect crazy spring break partying on the island but there are definately spots to hit up every night. There is only one main place that has a decent dance floor but people don't show up there until about midnight. Before that there's a couple other spots in town that have decent bars and live music.
The have great live reggae music on this island though which was a big plus.

This place is amazing...
Make sure you order the "One Barrel and Pineapple Juice!"
...the burgers are great as well. The only thing I don't recommend is getting drunk and trying to jump off the top level into the shallow water.

Every Wed. night for the past 17 years fun loving people gather here and buy tickets hoping that a Belizean chicken will drop on their number. {It did on mine} It's a real hoot!

Address: Spindrift Hotel in front of Caliente's restaurant.
Fido's Courtyard is a litle open place on Front Street that has some shops and a bar surrounding an open courtyard with tables. On Thursdays, I think this is a regular thing, Barefoot Skinny, basicly a singer, keeboard player, guitarist plays with his precusionist. He plays mainly covers but I think he has some of his own stuff. Anyway he puts on a good show, especially when your sipping rum drinks within sight of the Ocean.

On the Hustler dock towards the northern end of town is Wet Willies. This is a place with the real spring break atmosphere especially on Wednesday nights, ladies night. There are free shots for girls early in the night, later in the night people have to work for them so there is some bar dancing and some nakedness.
The bar is decorated with the bikini tops of past donators. There is also a large deck area when you need some space
