I loved the setting. It feels like sitting outside, with all the lush plants that fill the restaurant.
Favorite Dish: Raspberry Wine!! ...mmmmm
Also, we had red snapper and it was also very tasty, however,
it would have been very difficult to find bad snapper anywhere.

Because it is located on the less popular Back Street, it might take a while for visitors to stumble upon Syd's. Even when you do find it, it doesn't really look like much from the outside, but as you step into the restaurant and make your way over to the nice, sheltered courtyard, you'll quickly understand why Syd's has been a local's favorite for all these years. The menu offers a nice selection of typical Belizean and Mexican dishes, and prices are surprisingly cheap considering how good the food is. They claim to serve the best fried chicken on the island and it was indeed very good, as was the Belizean pasta salad it came with. But the one dish that was so good we actually went back the next day because we wanted more were the chicken tostadas: fried tortillas topped with refried beans, marinated chicken, tomatoes, lettuce and parmesan cheese, yum!

Local restaurant off the main street, ask anyone and they'll point you in the right direction. Try the local cuisine, such as stew chicken (with rice & beans and coleslaw.. what else!). We also tried the fish & chips, which was excellent too.

It's a small place kind of off the beaten path (for Caye Caulker), but I ate here several times. The food is plentiful and cheap. I had stewed chicken with rice and beans the first time, but stuck with chicken burritos and chicken tostadas the rest of the time. Fresh juices, too.
Favorite Dish: The $1.50 BZ chicken tostadas were fantastic. Sprinkle as much Marie Sharp's hot sauce on them and you've got a great little meal. I couldn't get enough of 'em.
