Cahal Peche is a small Mayan site right in San Ignacio. It is unusual in that it has the finish on the masonry which would have been there when the site was in use, and the brickwork is not all exposed.

This is a nice park with excavated as well as unexcavated mounds.I think it adds an air of mystery knot knowing whats burried below

This is a Mayan ruin easily accesable from the main highway.It sits on a hiltop as I recall and is a very compact archelogical site-of note for the density of ruins. A local guy told me this place......
