Martha's Restaurant is located in the heart of San Ignacio. The ambience is certainly nicer than a couple of restaurants we tried, and we appreciated the A/C that was provided while indoors. The wooden chairs and tables, along with the art decor, gave the impression that the restaurant would end up costing a lot more, so we were delighted at the reasonable prices when the check came.
Fresh ingredients highlighted the personal pizza (we got the pizza with everything on it, except the anchovies) which we enjoyed thoroughly. We also got stew chicken with rice & beans and coleslaw (a Belizean staple). As advertised on their sign, there is soemthing for everyone, so dont hesitate to stop by!
Favorite Dish: Pizzas-- they offer a wide variety of choices, and custom-made pick-your-toppings if you so choose.

Martha's restaurant is very pretty. It has an outdoor setting with lots of foliage separating it from the street. Unfortunately, the staff was a bit grumpy the night we were there. The food was good and inexpensive though, like most food in the area. Despite the prettiness of the place, our dinner was nearly ruined by a street flute player who stood nearly right next to us and gave a very piercing performance on his flute of unfortunately, songs we recognized but didn't really care for. Try the fish burrito and go on a night when the flute player is on vacation.
Favorite Dish: Fish burrito, believe it or not. The regular beef burrito is good too. Both are enormous.

Once we found Martha's, we ate here quite a bit because they had friendly waiters, a great variety of food (from make-you-own pizza to local cuisine), and a nice atmosphere to relax after a day of climbing ruins!
Favorite Dish: I actually really enjoyed the pineapple juice. It was just so fresh and tasty. The pizzas were great, too!

Martha's sign says Pizza, but you can get pretty much anything here. Burgers, burritos, pasta, salad . . . and the pizza is pretty darn good. I'm not sure, but I think it's air-conditioned inside - but we sat outside on the porch behind the bushes and kept the house cat company.
Favorite Dish: We ordered the pizza. The crust was kind of like Pizza Hut, which isn't my favorite, but the toppings & cheese were fresh and tasty.

Martha's has a nice place to eat outside and watch what's going on. The food is good, and affordable, and just around the corner (at Martha's guest house) you can drop your laundry off.

Excellent food and ambience out on the patio, eating dinner by candle light. Great food and a great staff.
We did slip the kitty some table scraps. She seemed very grateful! ;-)
