'Big Daddy's' (on the island of Ambergris Caye) is a definate must-visit night spot. Complete with black flourescent lighting and glow-in-the dark egg shell cartons pinned to the wall, this club is one of those must-see-it- to-believe-it kind of place.
The difference in culture and normal public behavior b/w the islands and the U.S. is simply amazing. Everyone that you meet seems to be trustworthy and usually extremely friendly.

Rasta Pasta Riddims (on da wadda) is Rasta Pasta'a recenly opened second location. Mister Albert Gill plays live reggae every Friday, Saturday 7-closing and Sunday i think they start at 1pm. Mister Albert is working on the release of a new CD called 'Tribute to a King'. He sings like an angel and the music is very up beat and positive
Well it's ondawadda and it's the only place on Ambergris Caye to enjoy live reggae. And the food is fantastic!! Much enjoyment and good energy here.

We only made one attempt to venture out while in Belize. Our last night there we decided to take a water taxi to town to check out some of the local spots. After several phone calls to the water taxi and lots of waiting, our shuttle arrived and we were on our way. That is where the adventure began... We got caught in a huge storm on the way, we were soaked and asked the captain to just turn around. He informed us that he could not turn around becuase he couldn't see anything. So we were soaken wet, cold and on our way out for the night, and then the boat ran out of gas. Luckily they had fuel on board and within a few minutes we were back in business. Well we arrived in San Pedro, but our only interest was to be back on the island dry and warm. We ran into some friendly locals in a bar, and after a few shots of Whiskey to warm up, they provided us with some dry clothes and we were on our way back home for the night. At least we had a nice dinner before this happened.

On Sunday and Wednesday nights at the Tackle Box in San Pedro. Relax at the bar, have some food outdoor above the water, and listen to the cool sounds of reggae.

When I landed in Belize City, I immediately hopped on a bus and headed West (to San Ignacio). After a few days, I headed back East, then South -- and stopped in Hopkins for a couple of days. Wow!...
