One backpack and a daypack.
Sandels, shorts, shortsleeve shirts and swimtrunks. Take a wide brim hat and don't forget your sunglasses.
Take some good sunblock !!! Bullfrog is the best I've found for lasting in the water. It works. Aloe vera gel for soothing the burn.
Take one or two disposable underwater cameras as well as your normal camera so that you can take some pictures while snorkelling.
When going to tropical destinations I sometimes buy cheap inflatable floats or rings to lounge on in the water. I just give them to a kid when I leave.
You don't need to take much. Leave a Comment

by damerow If you Go on Ian Anderson's Black Hole Drop, make sure you wear Long Pants, and hiking boots.
There might be doctors on some of the Cayes, and then again there might not. Better bring elementary medical supplies, like band aids, etc, if your prone to using those sorts of things.
Electric runs the same voltage as in the States, so this is not an issue for those of you prepared for North America.

A regular suicase will do if you are going to be in just one or two places, but if you are moving around a lot, an internal frame backpack is a good choice.
Pack light in the cloting department, it is always fairly warm in the tropics. Leave a Comment

You can buy repellant almost anywhere in the country but Belize was once called the Mosquito coast for a reason. Some of my friends have slept under netting but I never have. Malaria is a very limited problem now (Idon't even take med.'s while in Belize but I have for other areas of the world) Sand fleas are a problem in some areas also. Leave a Comment

Bring lightweight traveling pants and lightweight traveling shirts, great when it's hot, but the bugs are out or the sun is too strong.

Watershoes, large beach towel for the day trips.
Chapstick
Underwater camera for diving, snorkeling, cave tubing (need a flash for caves) Plenty of batteries for digitals and an extra memory card if you take photos like I do.
Small binoculars for the river trips to see the small wildlife.
American cigarettes are hard to find so buy them at duty free before arrival. Local brand Colonial (middle tar) cigarettes are really not bad and can be had for $1.50US and found everywhere. I also bought peanuts to share at Squirrels Nest.
