Duffel bag. I would recommend light colored clothing that can breath: shorts, t-shirts, hat, etc. A long sleeve button down shirt is good to have, it really helps with the sun. Good walking sandals, and sunglasses. Insect repellent and sunscreen. Don't leave home without either. You will definetly want an underwater camera if you go to the reef.

A regular suicase will do if you are going to be in just one or two places, but if you are moving around a lot, an internal frame backpack is a good choice. Pack light in the cloting department, it is always fairly warm in the tropics.

An in frame backpack is very handy unless you are going to a resort where someone else will carry your bags from the airport/water taxi. The islands do not have paved roads and niether does the jungle so your little wheels will not do you any good. Hiking boots for the mainland, sandels for the beach. If you will be hiking in the jungle long pants (cool) and a long sleeve t-shirt may be necessary. Check with your doctor as to malarials. I skipped them, but some doctors would scorn me for that. Water proof cameras are a good idea. Bug repellant and sunscreen are both a must.

Backpack, duh :). You can travel with a suit case though, so if you're a real city slicker don't worry :). Take some sandalls! It is bloody hot and humid in the summer... don't worry the scenery and nightlife make up for the heat. Also, take swiming cloths and snorkling equipment Some cameras don't like water so be careful :).

: Belize is a very informal country, with a very casual life-style. Unless you are invited to a Government function, please leave your 'After Five' attire at home. Leave your jewelry and expensive watches at home because you will not need them. If you must have a watch, bring an inexpensive watch that is suitable for diving and hiking. If you are visiting the Cayes and/or the Barrier Reef, bring your shorts, T-shirts, and bathing suits, as well as some comfortable tennis shoes or deck shoes. As the sun is probably more intense than what you are used to at home, bring a cap to protect your head from the tropical sun when you are boating and/or fishing. In addition to protecting your eyes from both the sun and the reflective glare off of the water, a pair of 'polarized' sunglasses will enhance the variable colors of the coastal waters of Belize. Loose fitting, light colored cotton pants...

One backpack and a daypack. Sandels, shorts, shortsleeve shirts and swimtrunks.Take a wide brim hat and don't forget your sunglasses. Take some good sunblock !!! Bullfrog is the best I've found for lasting in the water. It works.Aloe vera gel for soothing the burn. Take one or two disposable underwater cameras as well as your normal camera so that you can take some pictures while snorkelling. When going to tropical destinations I sometimes buy cheap inflatable floats or rings to lounge on in the water. I just give them to a kid when I leave. You don't need to take much.

If you Go on Ian Anderson's Black Hole Drop, make sure you wear Long Pants, and hiking boots. There might be doctors on some of the Cayes, and then again there might not. Better bring elementary medical supplies, like band aids, etc, if your prone to using those sorts of things. Electric runs the same voltage as in the States, so this is not an issue for those of you prepared for North America. Shorts/Swimming attire

Be sure to pack adequate protection from the strong, tropical sun (lotion and hat). Also repellent against pesky bugs.
