The restaurant is close to the seaport in Belize and fronting the cultural street. The restaurant has the colors of the Carribean: green, blue and orange. The restaurant has Carribean atmosphere, very cozy and busy. There is a computer in the restaurant where customers can log on and check their email. The atmosphere here is lively and people come here to drink the beer! My children shared a plate of the chicken and beans.
On our next to last day in Belize, we made a harrowing and hot midday walk in downtown Belize City, as we made our first explorations in this rather rundown city. We were very relieved to switch to a taxi, which delivered us to the posh Radisson hotel, located on the harbourfront beside historic Fort George. We were both very hot after our walk in the tropical sun, so the cool, air-conditioned atmosphere of the restaurant immediately brought us back to life! It was also very nice to actually find a restaurant open on this practically 'dead' Sunday afternoon! The dining room was bright and spacious, with a great view out onto the Belize City harbourfront (second photo), and relaxing live music was being played by a one-man band. Wish Willy's just moved to a new location, near the split, behind Frenchie's dive shop. I'm lucky enough to live next door! Most days, I'll be over there for drinks and a sunset view from the rooftop deck, or for dinner, or both. Yesterday he made me a killer plate of lobster and snapper... the night before, believe it or not, we had sushi! Sushi's not so easy to find around here, but Wish did it right!There's no better place on the island to eat, and spend happy hour. Stop by... I'll be there. If you can get him to make you some sushi, its phennominal... or pasta with lobster tails. Or anything!

We were on an all day tour and breakfast and lunch were included in our adventure. Since we were cave tubing on the Caves Branch River which is located on the grounds of Jaguar Paw, our lunch included a stop at their restaurant. The restaurant was rickly decorated with Maya Frescos, rich woods and Mayan artifacts and decorative items. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by the hostess and asked to choose our own seating. The tables are set up to accommodate 4 people and a nice couple from Southern England joined us at our table. The meal was a fixed lunch which included rice and beans, roasted chicken breast with a coleslaw and your choice of drink. The food was quite delicious and satisfying after especially after a two hour ride to get to the resort and an hour cave tubing. I did not stay at the guesthouse, however, I did go to Martha's for dinner one of my nights in San Ignacio. Despite the very long wait for our orders to come (around an hour), the food was great, and the ambiance was very nice, with outdoor seating. The only dish I had was a very generously sized burrito, which was very good.
During my stay in San Ignacio I visited Cafe Cayo on a VERY regular schedule. The food is amazing, everything is fresh and they have a variety of foods including both local Belizean and Guatamalan dishes but also traditional north american foods. It's a great place to go with groups especially when you have either picky eaters or a lot of different tastes. They have an extensive list of local and imported alcohol including decent WINE :) oh and very yummy desserts! On top of the food... they also have second-hand books for sale and a number of computers (with internet and printing) available. Good vibes... sometimes live Garifuna drummers... Sort of a central hub to the downtown with a large covered patio to watch the people and world go by. Located on front street the best way to enter is from the beach. This establishment is one to be savored with the views and the patient staff. Do not hurry thru the meal. If traveling alone as I did, the service does not falter and you are not put in the hall to the kitchen. The owner makes a fantastic Mojito (rum/mint/sugar/soda) so order one with any of the appetizers but save room for your entree. The bacon wrapped shrimp is well balanced with a dipping sauce that makes the entire entree melt in your mouth. You receive 5 shrimp that are wrapped in a similar proscuitto slash bacon with a side of veggies that are crisp and flavorful. My entire bill was $48.00US cocktail(s), soup, entree, liquor. Bon Appetite! Again, I say the bacon wrapped shrimp. Succulent, juicy, flavorful. Presentation beautiful.
Its a nice spot for breakfast in the main Front Street. I had breakfast 3 times here. You can find at least 15 different types of eggs and unlimited tea and coffee. Portions are big,they also give toast, jam and butter with the eggs. Stay outside, so that you can have the morning sun and the sea breeze on your face. Bear in mind that they close on Tuesday. Fruit plate was really good and big.
