This could be your first or last stop while in the BVI. This bay is literally a few minutes by foot from the Beef Island Airport. While waiting for flights to depart, many travelers walk over here to grab a last meal.

Trellis Bay has a few beautiful beachfront resorts, but it's kind of disturbing knowing that the airport is so closeby.

The main reason to come here is to look at the local arts and crafts. This town has turned into a craft village and public art haven...Rare because you don't encounter much in terms of art in the BVI.

Marina Cay is an easily accessible island for even non-sailors. This small island is just a 15 minute ferry ride from the Beef Island Airport. The island is surrounded by reef, making it a great place to snorkel/dive. It's also a handy spot to refuel your boat.

There is hardly anything on the island except for a resort, and a couple restaurants and bars. If you're looking for seclusion, it's the perfect place to spend a night or two.

Soper's Hole is the little sand bar connecting Frenchman's Cay (an island) and the West End of Tortola. There's not much more than many restaurants, bars, etc. to satisfy your appetite. Yet it's still a great place to stop by when you've been on some remote islands and want to stock up on provisions.

This cay happens to be one of the most sheltered in the BVI. If a storm is coming in, try to spend the night moored here. We had to because of a tropical storm.

On the coast of Norman Island lie several caves accessible only by boat and swimming.

The author Robert Louis Stevenson modeled his novel Treasure Island off this island and treasure caves.

The caves make a unique location to snorkel or dive. Watch out for black sea urchins. My friend got severely stung by one.

World famous spot for partying and nightlife! Jost Van Dyke is a 4 mile long island northwest of Tortola. Aside from beautiful beaches, there's loads of bars and restaurants here. Foxy's Tamarind Bar & Grill is located here, where the famous Foxy performs calypso music on a regular basis.

I think this is about as tiny as an island can get and still hold a resort. Saba Rock is located off the North Sound of Virgin Gorda, just near Bitter End Yacht Club. It is one of several tiny and almost uninhabited islands in the sound. Saba Rock does have a resort with 9 rooms and a water sport activities center offering snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, etc...

There are ferries connecting Saba Rock to the North Sound Virgin Gorda mainland.

Famous Island depicted in Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island

The uninhabited island merely holds one restaurant on land, one restaurant on a pirate ship, and the famous Caves for snorkeling.

    The island doesn't have telephones.

Pretty much, go here if you're feeling in a Pirate spirited mood. It's lively entertainment, at least for one night.

The BVI's are known not only as a sailor's paradise, but they've also become quite the diver's mecca. Sailors are encouraged to use mooring buoys set in the various coves rather than anchoring, to help protect the fragile reef systems. And because the big cruise ships are not quite as prevalent here as in some other areas, the waters are clean and healthy.
All manner of reef & wreck dives are there for you to choose from, and excellent dive schools abound all over the islands. I already had my Open Water certification on this trip from Blue Island Divers on St. Thomas, but I was very impressed with the quality of dive trips & expertise with Dive BVI in Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda. They have other locations too, including Leverick Bay on Virgin Gorda and Marina Cay (which is a tiny island between Beef Island & Tortola). As with most dive shops, they will pick you up from your yacht or cruise ship, and can arrange pickups on land as well.

Although it's the BVI, sometimes this place gets really really busy! It's one of those must-see-spots, beautiful beaches combined with huge boulders, a kind of cave system with underwater pools and steps and ropes that help you to climb through.
Perfect snorkelling spot, just go into the water from the beach and put your head in the water.

There is a little booth on the main beach where you can get some burgers and cocktails.

There is an entrance charge of 3 USD as a National Park Fee.

    Getting the sailboard up

Every time I've watched sailboarders I've been impressed with how much skill it really takes to get thes up & running! And then there are the winds, especially tricky for novices like this guy. I mean, not enough wind, and there you are with no place to go. But too much wind will knock you over before you even get started.
Still, he seemed to be enjoying himself!
FYi, you can take board sailing lessons right there in Trellis Bay with Boardsailing BVI.
