Pusser's Road Town Pub by LilBeachBum When you walk inside Pusser's Road Town Pub you can't help but notice the neat decor. It is fun to take a look at it! There is a small bar with lots of Pusser's Rum offered in mixed drinks if you just want to get a refreshment and rest your feet. BUT, despite the cool decor what really bothered me about this restaurant is the big cockroach walking across the dining room floor that started climbing up the wall to the point a diner moved his seat because he was afraid it was going to fall in his food. What is more disturbing is despite all the commotion the staff was not observant enough to take note of all this and take care of the little critter. I know this is the tropics but c'mon! Since I was starving at this point I did try the food I ordered. The best thing I tried here was the Jerk Chicken & Pineapple Quesadilla with the Jerk Pizza as my second favorite. Because of the cockroach experience I would say visit Pusser's Road Town for a drink and if you feel comfortable enough then try the food since it does have a neat ambience. And skip the desserts unless you like them sugary sweet. I rated this restaurant as low as I did because the service was slow, the waitress was more business-like than friendly, and definitely the cockroach. I didn't rate it as "Totally Unsatisfied" since it has a nice ambience and the quesadilla was worth having again. And considering Pusser's Rum has won multiple awards, well, why not try it while you are there. And if you like the rum, Pusser's Rum by the bottle is available for sale in the Company Store attached to the restaurant.
Try the Jerk Chicken & Pineapple Quesadilla which had a nice combination of spice paired with some sweetness and the right amount of cheese to compliment the flavors and not overwhelm it. Also it interesting twist to the standard pizza is to try the Jerk Pork & Chicken Pizza.

The street entrance to the Roti Palace by LilBeachBum You have to look for the steps that lead to this second story restaurant overlooking Main Street. It isn't fancy but that is the charm of it all. The tables are covered in checkered vinyl picnic cloths, the menu is written on a chalkboard outside the kitchen and you help yourself to the drinks in the refrigerator case. I ordered the Chicken Roti which is chicken with Indian curry wrapped in a flatbread and closely resembles a burrito. On the side was white rice and two slices of fried plantains. This dish would have been better if it was served warmer than it was (it was served barely above room temperature) and I didn't exactly like having cartiledge still attached to the chicken meat in my roti. If the food was served at a higher temperature and there was no cartiledge with my chicken I would recommend this restaurant for a place to try this local dish since the roti itself was quite nice. I am hoping I just caught the cook on a bad day. But for now I am hesitant to recommend it. The Road Town Bakery by LilBeachBum This bakery offers more than just desserts but I have to mention the desserts here first since I really liked them! They are located on Main Street next to all the art galleries and shopping is which makes it a convenient stop for desserts and if you must...ready made sandwiches and salads. There is shaded outdoor seating which offers a great opportunity to people shop as well.
If love nuts, definitely try the nut tarts there. They are delicious! And another item to try is their chocolate rolled cake with whipped chocolate frosting filling with whole cherries and covered with a whipped white frosting over the entire roll. Pisces Restaurant & Bar by LilBeachBum In a word this little place is charming through and through! It is located behind the shops at Soper's Hole Marina in a small green building with plastic furniture outside and the most welcoming 3 ladies I saw behind the kitchen who served as cook, hostess and waitress. On my visit to Pisces Restaurant I came for breakfast and ordered Plain Caribbean Pancakes which came with eggs, bacon and sausage. I was brought a full plate of food practically stacked upon each other by a huggable lady who said with a giggle "I made it too big!". It was really hard not to smile! One of the ladies daughters who saw me earlier skipped and waved as she went by with a big smile, I listened to the wind, looked at the trees and enjoyed my food. It was unrushed and when you take it all in you feel like the real world doesn't exist and then I realized that this is what it was all about. By the way, this Pisces Restaurant also serves lunch and dinner with lots of beef, seafood and other goodies.
Pancakes...so far! Anyway if you like pancakes that are more bread-like than crepe-like you will enjoy these. They really have a nice taste to them. The bacon was served extra crispy and better than I remember other bacon to be. I didn't like the sausage though. But you know everything else was island perfect...so who really cares! Watermark Restaurant by LilBeachBum There is no website for this restaurant. Frommer's doesn't even list as even existing in Tortola. My taxi cab driver even took a wild guess as to where it was even located and yet this place was packed for dinner! Word has apparently gotten around about this wonderful beachfront restaurant! Watermark Restaurant is an open-air restaurant with a cute bar in the center with a small window into the kitchen to see the chef working wildly away! It is quiet and romantic with an attentive staff and perfectly cooked food. The meal I had at this restaurant was the best one I had on the island on my last trip and one of the better dinner experiences I had altogether in the restaurants I have tried around the world. It is definitely worth trying! Reservations recommended. This restaurant was formerly known as Oscar's and was acquired by the owners of The Dove who changed the name to what it is now.
It came out in a timely manner, food temperatures were correct and the food was inventive and very tasty. For my appetizer I ordered a French artichoke soup with 2 large scallops and asparagus spears. It may sound like an unusual pairing but it worked and was just delicious! As an entree I ordered the Sea Bass which was cooked perfectly and was plated over fennel risotto. Chocolate lover's should try the Chocolate Three Ways that had chocolate mousse, pot de creme and a white chocolate brownie. And since I love cheese I also ordered Meditteranean Cheeses which had 3 small samplings of cheeses paired with things like cherry compote, dried figs, and olive temanade. Keep in mind, the items listed above may not be available on your visit since the menu changes for diner's to enjoy the freshest of ingredients. Interior of Brandywine Bay Restaurant by LilBeachBum What makes this restaurant special is its personal touch from the menu being handwritten on a whiteboard and explained in detail to the passion for quality this restaurant strives for in the sense that they make their own mozzerella cheese and also their own pasta. Aside from that, the restaurant has a casual yet elegant feel. It offers views of the Sir Francis Drake Channel and would a nice date restaurant. The Details: Menu changes nightly with the emphasis on fresh ingredients Reservations suggested Casually elegant attire Anchorage available: 15 ft. draft
I loved the three Middle Course pasta dishes. The pasta noodles in each of them had a wonderful texture and the sauces were wonderfully balanced with a delicate taste. An example of the pasta choices were Spaghettini with Lamb Bolognese, Tortellini di Gorgonzola and Ravioli Scallop with cream Shiitake & Thyme.

Charlie's Restaurant at Wickhams Cay 2 by LilBeachBum This open-air, over water restaurant allows you to watch the sailboats, catamarans and yachts quietly float by leaving or returning from the journeys at sea between the Village Cay Marina and the Wickhams Cay 2 Marina. As the gentle ocean breezes play in your hair it is very hard not to relax here! On my visit to Charlie's, I decided to have breakfast on a Sunday which has a special Brunch Menu that has items such as Steak & Eggs, Eggs Benedict, Full English Breakfast, and a variety of breakfast pizzas. What you will NOT find on their Brunch Menu are pancakes, waffles or french toast (I was informed that is available on other mornings). Since I was craving carbs, I ordered the Green Bell Peppers, Eggs, Onions and Mushroom Pizza ($16). It is a thin crust pizza with a nice layer of (but not too much) cheese and I was surprised that I liked the egg on my pizza as much as I did. It actually added a richness & heartiness to it. (By the way I noticed what looked like a wood burning pizza oven in the dining room!) by bsfreeloader A $5 taxi ride from Road Town but well worth the effort. I had shrimp, scallops, and conch three ways (garlic butter, curried, lime marinade), and it was nothing short of outstanding. But I couldn't stop salivating over the ribs many other diners had ordered. They also have fresh fish and lobster prepared just about any way you want it. Pusser's in Sopers Hole by Steve413 Although a chain - the food is pretty good and the restaurants tend to be in touristy areas. Most have gift shops with them which are not cheap but the quality of their goods are decent. There are three in Tortola - one in Soper's Hole overlooking all of the boats moored overnight, another is in Roadtown in the center of everything and the third is on Marina Cay which is a small island right next to Tortola.
The painkillers are pretty good here if you enjoy island rum drinks. Leave a Comment Theme: AmericanPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than average
