    Virgin Gorda Things to Do

This is a small area within the Baths called Devils Bay Beach and Trail---the trail goes in and around large boulders sometimes in shallow water and sometimes dry rock and ends up at a pretty little beach for snorkling or just sunning. Stunning photo opportunity on the walk thru----

    Virgin Gorda Transportation

Here's what NOT to do:I took an American Airlines flight from Florida to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Then I had to catch an American Eagle flight to Beef Island, BVI. Then I had to get a ferry from Trellis Bay on Beef Island to Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda, and a cab from there to FIscher's Cove Hotel. All this after spending the previous day flying...

    Beef Island Transportation

The North Sound Express Ferries leave from Trellis Bay, with published fares & schedules (see contact info below). I caught the fast ferry to Virgin Gorda (and it is FAST!). This one makes stops at the Spanish Town dock (called "the Valley" by locals & on the schedules), and then continues on to Leverick Bay & Bitter End Yacht Club. They prefer...

    Beef Island Shopping

Roger Ellis is another UK emigree artist whose work has gained local fame, and it is sold throughout the islands. His main gallery is at Trellis Bay with a fine selection of his works, called "Flukes". Roger has lived in the tropics all over the world, including 2 years on Papua New Guinea, before making the BVI's his home. His paintings are happy...

The eats are reasonably priced & very tasty, the deck outside is relaxed and comfortable with a great view for watching the goings-on along the Bay, or you can munch a vegetarian or seafood roti and other local treats while picking up your email from back home. All in all, a nice little break along the waterfront! Check out the menu at the web...

Jost Van Dyke Island

  • Party on Jost van Dyke

    Jost Van Dyke Island Nightlife

Ivan's is a very relaxed bar and restaurant. The motto is stress free, just like the owner, Ivan, who usually hangs out with the crowd. I went on Ivan's Birthday celebration. There was live music all night, bbq, and a huge cake. Although the bar was very crowded and it took a long time to get drinks, nobody seemed to care...definitely stress free....

  • swim ashore to The Soggy Dollar

Jost Van Dyke Island Things to Do

One bay over from Foxy's restaurant/pub is The Soggy called because there is no dock must either take a dinghy ashore or better yet, jump and swim! I highly recommend the latter. Now you know why it's "The Soggy Dollar". And yes, there are....soggy dollars that is. You'll see lines strung up behind the bar with bills...

  • I Wouldn't Say "Life"

    Jost Van Dyke Island Nightlife

On Jost Van Dyke, there isn't really a "nightlife". It's definitely a day-trip kind of place, since when the sun sets, restaurants and bars close up shop. If you want to booze until the wee-hours, your best bet is to buy a bottle early in the day and use that. No shirt, no shoes, no problem!

    Anegada Things to Do

We came to Loblolly Bay twice on our day on Anegada. When we first came here after our visit to Dotsy's Bakery we were planning to have breakfast on the beach. Clouds were looking dramatic and within minutes it started to rain heavily. We escaped and came back a few hours later when the sun was out again. At the beginning there were a few people...

    Anegada Things to Do

We kind of found Cow Wreck Beach by accident. It wasn't really on my to-do-list when we started touring Anegada. Luckily we saw a sign and decided to have lunch here. What a beach!!!! The colours were more perfect here than anywhere else on the islands. As usual there was nobody on the beach. The sea was calm and the beach wonderful. We had lunch...

    Norman Island Things to Do

Gwen gave Bob an underwater flashlight, and we got into the dinghy. Don took us around to the "Treasure Island Caves" and we went snorkeling. She gave him the flashlight so we could see in the caves which were dark. She said that people fed the fish so the fish would probably greet us She didn't believe in feeding the fish, so she didn't give us...

  • FIrst Open Water Dives

    Norman Island Sports & Outdoors

Gwen anchored in Benares Bay so that we would have an easy first dive for my first checkout dive. I didn't take any photos as I was busy demonstrating the skills that were required by the first Open Water Dive. The first dive was at Benares Reef. The next dive on the following day was done in Soldier's Bay and I wrote in my diary that I saw lobster...

  • Anchorages

    Norman Island Sports & Outdoors

The big anchorage at Norman (and also near the caves) is the Bight which is a large area well sheltered anchorage with no tricky entrance. This is often one of the first places that bareboaters go to anchor. There is apparently a floating restaurant here, but we didn't see it because we didn't anchor here. Gwen wanted a quieter place for us. So she...

    Hiking on Guana Island

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Hiking around Guana's 850 acres is a "must do" activity. If the heat bothers you start your hike before breakfast. There are lierally countless birds, flora, and insects to observe on your hikes. There are many trails and the resort will provide you with maps.
