  • Casual Dining on the Waterfront

Hammerheads is right on the harbor in George Town with indoor and outdoor patio seating. The view on the water is great! It's very casual with a kind of sports bar atmosphere. They had 3 of their very own brews on tap when we were there. I had the blueberry brew. The menu is heavy on the appetizers & finger food with the obligatory conch fritters &...

  • Cracked Conch By the Sea

The Cracked Conch restaurant is located in the same building as Sun Divers at Turtle Reef, right next door to the Tortuga Rum shop in West Bay. Lone Star Bar & Grill is owned by Texans. They serve a wide variety of Texas Southern homecooking as well as Mexican dishes with a seafood flair. Be sure to stop in and enjoy the decor. Feel free to bring a t-shirt for them to hang on the wall or ceiling. Be sure to arrive early because it gets crowded fast. Mexadillas.

  • Dining with Fish

This is a great little restaurant right on the beach. Enjoy your meal served on the pier. They serve everything from cheeseburgers to seafood. Once you have enjoyed your meal stroll over to the edge of the pier and feed the Tarpon. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you choose here. Don't expect anything fancy though.

  • "Real" Cayman Style Food

This used to be a cozy, local place down at the south end of the island. Not sure what its like now! I remember they had the best white chocolate mousse (though I guess that's not so Cayman-style) in the world. Their menu also used to change alot, but they always had great fish ... no guarentees now though!

The Fajitas used to be outstanding here -- the only place I've ever been where the *carrots* were spicy! Check your bill since gratuities are sometimes added and sometimes not. Cayman food is predominantly seafood. Fish is generally sauteed with tomato, onion, pepper and piquant seasoning. Conch is available as chowder, fritters, marinated, etc.
