I noticed your post last night and didn't respond because I am not familiar with Riu Palace. But I can tell you if you are based at this location your entire trip and considering Riu's location, you should not consider Tabacon (La Fortuna), Skytrek (Monteverde) or even Rincón de la Vieja (east coast). I do know Costa Rican roads and all these locations could take up to 4 hours to get to and maybe longer depending on how many trucks you get behind while traveling through the mountains. All highways are only two lanes except near San Jose.
If your not already booked into the trip your entire stay at one location you may consider driving down the Guanacaste Coast (Nicoya peninsula). Where are you flying into?
It is a great little town. I have never fished there but the diving is good. I usually use Rich Coast Diving and I would assume they have a resort course. They
certainly teach more advanced courses. This is still the high season prices are
up. The town is usually quite busy and a little noisy this time of the year.
They have a couple big weekend celebrations about this time. It is the dry season so you won't get rained on. Enjoy
Fondest memory: I like the area, the people and the diving. I have been there 3 times and would like to go
What do you think?? not only humans have the right to take a sunbath.
I spent four days at Playa Avellana (marvelous place), and I swear you, the pig was all the time on the beach. Sometimes under thre palms, sometimes on the water, but always there. The most strange think is that the chancho didn't get brown...
