Parked our rental car in an open lot, right across from the center square at noon May 5 2004.Wwe went in to the Bank ,1 block away. There were police on the next corner 50 meters away. Checked the vehicle after 10 minutes and did not notice anything. Went back to the bank and came back to the car 10 minutes later and drove away. Later we discovered that thieves had poped the lock of the car by jamming passenger side door with some tool and stole 2 large pieces of luggage full of everything.
When we returned the rental car, the staff acted as like " oh yeah, your car door lock hasd been forced. Happens all the time, check and see if your missing anything!"
Costa Rica is taking us for granted.

As we arrived in Liberia, we found that alcohol sales were illegal the Thursday before and Good Friday.
I had to drive a fella I didn't know to the ouskirts of town to buy a bunch of beer. That may not have been my brightest idea, but it worked out fine.
