As kids, I remember my father always telling us to be patient with the cattle as we drove to the beaches from the city. We would literally put the jeep in neutral and just sit there as the cattle crossed, stopped or just stood there...but they the point was to give them the right-of-way because "that's just the way it is". The herder was often around on foot or on horse and to this day some things have not changed. It's nice to see the charm of old Costa Rica still as I remember as a child....
Please be respectful of the farmers and their cattle as they are moving them...Just put the car in neutral and relax, what rush are you in anyway...
If you are in a rush...you are in the wrong place...
