Playa Guionnes Surf
Yes, the surfing is good at Playa Guionnes, but not all the time. The first day of our stay there was FANTASTIC. Long, long rides on glassy 4-6 foot swells that seemed to peak for about half a minute before you had to drop in or bail out. Surfed for about 4 hours non-stop with only a minute or two between paddling back out and catching the next wave. Do not wear yourself out on the first day. The second day was also good, but somewhat bigger. By the time I got out there - about 75 yards from the beach - I was too worn out to catch anything.
The surf continued to build during our stay and the larger waves 10' to 15' were best at about mid-tide. Again, it was murder paddling out so far against waves this size. Very few of us made it. I did it though and had some screaming fast rides only to face another grueling paddle. I think next time I'll stick to single overhead.
Play with a dog
There are plenty of dogs running around Nosara. Some belong to people and some don't. All like to play a game of fetch the stick in the water though.
Build a beach hut
There are no trees on the beaches in Nosara so you need to make your own shade from the brutal rays of the sun
white sand beach
Playa Nosara is just one of the lovely beaches in this area.
It is backed by lush vegetation which attracts birds and wildlife.
At times it has a very strong surf.
