Favorite thing: tour the island, the lush vegetation and mountains make it wonderful adventure. You can eat on the way while relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
Fondest memory: Having a COCONUT - yes that is right - the best coconuts I have tasted, are in St Lucia. These are available from the market everyday - so refreshing and having a nice taste.

Favorite thing: I found that the best place to eat is Pizza Pizza. I think it is in Rodney Bay.The pizza's are inches deep. My Grandad nearly had a heart attack when he saw them!!!
Fondest memory: The milkshakes! My fave flavour was Pistachio but you can choose from vanilla to Guiness!!!Whatever the flavour they probably sell them.
Visit Pigeon Island National...
Favorite thing: Visit Pigeon Island National Park. St.Lucia is a picturesque Island, very romantic with views of the Pitons and beautiful beaches.Pigeon Island is a 40-acre islet restored by the Saint Lucia National Trust and designated a National landmark. There are two very good beaches and remnants of the 18th-century British naval garrison, and Fort Rodney, a fortified hilltop, and a museum. This museum is housed in the former British officers' mess building, which has been restored to its 1808 plans. A modern 'hands-on' display brings Pigeon Island's fascinating history to life. This is the only museum that I have been to where I could stroll over to the beach afterwards! This is also the site of the St.Lucian Jazz Festival and it costs $2.00US to enter. There is a restaurant and bathroom facilites.
Fondest memory: The sight of the Pitons......absolutely breathtaking and reminds me of St.Lucia.

Favorite thing: There are many beautiful places in St Lucia, one that sticks out is a view point on the way to Soufriere where you have a beautiful view of the Pitons.
Fondest memory: I miss the whole atmosphere of St Lucia. I miss the friends that I have made there.
markymark's General Tip
Fondest memory: My fellow sailors (the other paying 'guests') - Morgane and Delphine from Brittany, France. They were living and working on Martinique for a while (and incidentally, at the end of the trip offered a room in their appartment to me for a few days!). Had great fun and great company. Anyone who dishes the French will answer to me! ;o)
Go on a whale and dolphin...
Favorite thing: Go on a whale and dolphin trip. We went with a tour and the Captain was very good. When we spotted anything, he did not go rushing in and scaring the creatures but did very slow decreasing circles around them. Sometimes this worked and allowed us to get close to them and sometimes it did not but it gave the creatures time to dive if they felt unsafe. I would not believe that I could feel anything by looking at a creature but the first sighting of a Whale certainly made me excited. One Whale must have been no more than 20 feet away from the boat and stayed there for at least 10 minutes. Unfortunately, pictures of Whales just swimming along do not come out very well, so the picture shown is a picture of the Pitons as seen from the sea.
Stay at the Ladera Resort high...
Favorite thing: Stay at the Ladera Resort high above the ocean in the rain forest. We arrived at night and every 'room' is unique. They only have 3 walls so that you can look out on to the Pitons and the ocean below you. When you wake in the morning you will not believe the beautiful sight from your room. We had our own private waterfall and plunge pool. It was like out of a dream....
Fondest memory: Climbing the Petit Piton and bearing the most afraid I have ever been. Making it back down again with our Rastafarian guide and then celebrating our feat at the resort's manager's party that night!

Favorite thing: See the Grand Pitons. Try the bananas-best in the world. See the island. It is beautiful! Go to the Botanical Gardens in the rain forest.
Fondest memory: With the all-inclusive resort, we never received a bill when dinner was over.

Favorite thing: kayake to Rat Island with snorkelling gear attached to the boat and then snorkell round the island. Although, the snorkelling at Anse Chastenet is also excellent.
Fondest memory: St Lucia has a lovely humid climate and loads of coral and different coloured fish. Brilliant for snorkelling - if you like chasing after fish and swimming. The corals were better a few years ago but they have been destroyed by Hurricane Lenny.
Just soak it all in...St....
Favorite thing: Just soak it all in...St. Lucia is really the most beautiful island I have seen. Combining beautiful white sand (as well as black sand) beaches with miles of rainforest and mountains and throwing in a laid back, friendly atmosphere, St. Lucia really does have it all. The best part of all, it hasn't been spoiled by hordes of tourists and the government has made efforts to ensure that the interior rainforest stays protected.
Fondest memory: The people. Friendly, relaxed and beautiful...
The sunset/supper cruise on...
Favorite thing: The sunset/supper cruise on the Brig Unicorn. It is absolutely heaven as they open the riggings and let the sails take you out of Castries and up the coast. After the cruise you are taken to supper high above the city of Castries for gourmet dining overlooking the city at night time.
Fondest memory: Our fondest memory is the spectacular beauty of the Island and the warmth of the people who live there. Anse Chastenet is on the top of the list, a marine reserve, you can snorkel about 100 feet off the beach and see the most beautiful colour and varieties of fish that you can imagine. We also miss THE INN ON THE BAY where we stayed in Marigot Bay. It is heaven on earth.
Take a water taxi to Anse...
Favorite thing: Take a water taxi to Anse Chastenet and snorkel or scuba in this marine sanctuary.
Fondest memory: Snorkelling hand in hand through the blue water while hundreds of fish of all shapes, colours and sizes swam around is.
Also the Sunset Sail from Castries on the Unicorn returning for dinner in the city on a hillside reataurant was an untimate taste treat and romance on the top of the scale.
St. Lucia: You CAN have it all
Favorite thing: Although I can't honestly say I've been to any other Caribbean vacation spots, we liked St. Lucia because it had such a variety of offerings -- beautiful beaches, natural attractions, historic sights, and a colorful capital city. We loved the people we met, the beaches (of course) and the variety of landscapes (from the impressive Pitons to the jungles).
Fondest memory: The blue-green gentle ocean and the breathtaking sunsets are what I remember most about St. Lucia.
